How To Get To Heaven

Another thread that has to be picked and prodded at. Denomination wars...sick...sick sick.... Does faith really have to have a label for it to be acceptable?

As to salvation....Jesus is the WAY. No one shall get to the Father except through HIM. Practicing faith does take much more than belief, one must live in it. As it is written: Faith without works is dead.

Just do not know why we have to pick and nag at each other on account of denominations. Differences in beliefs is what divided the church to begin with...
In short, division is what SATAN used to try to topple the church and to this day we let him try to continue to pull us apart...why? Because our pride gets in the way.

Who's talking about denominations or difference in beliefs ??? ... :confused

:biglol

.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but how is "Apostate" a denominational thing ? :confused

Don't all Christians believe in apostasy ? :shrug

As odd as this sounds I have seen Apostalytical and Apostate churches. Even Christianity....has denominations. After all what is a Baptist or Methodist.

Whether we all believe in apostasy is not an issue here, but that one remark I felt was one made to be derrogatory....then I am pregnant. It may be me just taking some words out of context and prenatal hormones kicking in......so my apologies all.

I think getting to heaven has a lot more to do with honesty and loving others like Jesus does, not so much about reading a certain version of the bible

Well,
It's obvious that the OP was centered around the accuracy of the KJV and to that I'm going to have to say that the KJV is closer IMHO to the original manuscripts than the NIV and far closer than "The Message". :lol

But more to the point of heaven:

NIV:
Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
23It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.

The Message:
That's why blood, the evidence of death, is used so much in our tradition, especially regarding forgiveness of sins.
That accounts for the prominence of blood and death in all these secondary practices that point to the realities of heaven. It also accounts for why, when the real thing takes place, these animal sacrifices aren't needed anymore, having served their purpose. For Christ didn't enter the earthly version of the Holy Place; he entered the Place Itself, and offered himself to God as the sacrifice for our sins.

KJV:
22And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

23It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

Was thinking about this thread today and a Sunday School song we sing came to mind, it goes something like this, now sing along! :lol

Oh you can't get to heaven,
echo, Oh you can't get to heaven

In a limousine
echo, in a limousine

(Drop an octave)

Oh you can't get to heaven,
echo, Oh you can't get to heaven

In a limou---sine (Stretch the sine with a bit of waver)
echo, in a limou---sine

(Now pick up the tempo, and all together now)
Oh you can't get to heaven in a limousine, cause Gods got great big plans for me,

all my sins are washed away, I've been redeemed
echo I've been redeemed.

Verse 2.
Oh you can't get to heaven,
echo, Oh you can't get to heaven

In a taco shell
echo in a taco shell :lol

:thumbsup
