I think that those who live in the UK know lots more about that than I ever would.
I'm a coffee person.
I do drink tea...I like it green and cold. Sometimes brown and cold....and on an even rarer occasion hot, Indian, and with honey and brandy.
I live in the UK but never liked tea. I know that people all have different ideas of what s great cup of tea is.
Some like it strong others weak. Some put the milk in first others put tea in first
Others have it without milk. You can have it with or without sugar
Then there is lemon tea, no milk, slivers of lemon or lemon juice
You can drink it hi
Hot or cold, but one thing they all agree pm is the water must be boiling hot when you pour it on the tea.
All a matter of taste, so you have to experiment.
Give them coffee
What is tea without at least some biscuits (cookies)to go with? Why, you might as well be down at the pub as to do nothing but drink.
And of course when having a meeting you must put the kettle on for a cuppa...lips and tongue need their grease. It would be inhospitable to do otherwise.
Tea is the number one drink in the world...ounce per ounce much more concentrated than coffee ever hoped to be.
There are many more varieties of tea with varying flavor profiles than there ever were of coffee.
Caffeine content of tea can be quite high...much higher than coffee ever hoped to have.
The big box varieties are no match for the sheer varieties of tea in an Indian spice shop coming out of India in bulk. That stuff is fantastic.

Tea is horrible
Sometimes people like to dunk ginger cookies into the cup. They go all soggy and fall to the bottom of the cup
Don't let anyone do it to your cookies John.
You are right, a knock on the door and the kettle goes on
