Terrorism is evil. And evil can only be overcome by the love of God (Romans 12:21; Ephesians 6:10-20). Therefore, only the love of God can break the cycle of hate and revenge, and stop terrorism. God’s love is seen in Jesus’ passion and death. When we offended Him and killed Him, He did not sue us or take revenge or kill us. Instead, He the victim paid the price for our sins by His own life (Matthew 26:28). In order to stop terrorism, therefore, those who are reborn in Christ’s, like Christ, must impart Christ’s life of unconditional love to the terrorist. We can impart Christ’s love to them only by showing them Christ’s sacrificial love in our acts (Matthew 5:16). We should therefore, assist the terrorists in over coming the hate in their heart. If they are suffering from poverty we should give them humanitarian help, without any string attached. This will build trust between the two sides. Then, it will be possible to negotiate a just solution for problems that separate us from them. Only God (who is love) is truly just (Matthew 19:17). True justice therefore, is love. A just solution is therefore, found only in love. A just solution, therefore, would be to give more to the other side than they demand (Luke 6:29-30), and demand less for one’s own side. Such an attitude will further increase the trust between the two sides and bring peace. Furthermore, in the long run both sides will gain; because, absence of war will bring major savings of life and resources. The solution outlined herein, may not sound very practical, especially if there is centuries of animosity and bloodshed. However, because God is love, we must never underestimate the power of love.

Yes, angelo, while words fail me right now to respond with anything deep and meaningful, I do agree with your take on this. We'll have to wait and see if anyone else initiates a different reponse.

I completely agree that this is by far the best plan of action that will result in the best results. But we live in a fallen world. People here are not willing to forgive, and as a country we are not willing to let go of money to give to people who need help far worst than we do. And when we do give money it usually goes into the hands of people who are controlling the countries living extravagent lives and their peasants die of hunger. And the terrorists don't care what we actually do to help them because they are filled with hate and unforgiveness as well. It is a sad world we live in, but I thank God that this world is not the end. There is also hope that we as Christians can make a difference if we follow Christ's command to love. Its all going down hill, but there is a difference between the world and individuals that can still be saved.

The main argument which can be used in rebuttal here is that there are Christian terrorists, or at least, terrorists who dub themselves Christian. Terrorism, by definition, is using any act of violence to bring about a political change. The American founding fathers who were a part of the Boston Tea Party are, by definition, terrorists as they used a violent action to display their wish for change in government plans.

Coincidentally, I don't believe terrorism can automatically be written off as evil; violence is indeed against Christian scripture, but what if the individuals are being prosecuted by a tyrant who only permits worship of him and sentences anyone else to an exceedingly torturous demise. Are they simply supposed to go into submission? If certain people worked together within miniature sects to slow cause the influence of this tyrant to diminish [e.x. assassinating those who torture others, his main follows, and ect...], it would be terrorism… but is their wrong as great as that of the tyrant?
