I'm no astronomer, but I found Mr. Ross' testimony compelling. Before reading many of the articles on this site, I was a young-earth creationist. Now I'm an old-earth creationist.

I did a search, but only found two mentions of him. Has anyone here read any of his works? What do you think?

The man teaches heresy. At least he doesn't believe in evolution though

Hugh Ross is a learned man. He glorifies God while explaining the science of astonomy. Simple minded people would be challanged by him but he discusses many interesting points. I have all his books and appreciate his line of thinking. Although I don't agree with them all.

For the record, I am a creationist. I hate the theory of evolution because it's simply bad science and I have no views on old/new earth theory. I find these arguments miss the point.

Thoroughly enjoyed his works.

I have read his book on Genesis in his book "The Genesis Question: Scientific Advances and the Accuracy of Genesis".

He puts forth some good arguments on reconciling the problems with the creation account in Genesis 1 which made a lot of sense to me. He shows that if you read the account from the frame of reference the Bible indicates, the creation account makes a lot of sense.

The rest of the book was OK but I thought he was reaching a bit on most ideas with the rest of Genesis, but his ideas can make for good conversation. I would recommend the book for anybody with an interest in the topic.

btw - I believe that the earth was created by God, exists because of his will, is old and some of the theory of evolution has merit. (The spell check at this site is great!)

Ross is attempting to compromise to save his religion of creationism. He hopes, by allowing a little reality into his beliefs, that he might somehow make it work.

It won't work. It's bad religion, and it's bad science.
