Growth Humble Yourself in the Site of the Lord

"Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up." James 4:1

We have a large barn on our house and sometimes we see birds that fly among the rafters. They flutter back and forth in a futile effort to escape. For a long time they will fly back and forth for a long time when our large door is open. The bird will finally lower itself and fly out the door to safety.

How often are we like the birds? We try reasoning to find our way in life. We frantically god back and forth, trying one thing and then another, but all to no avail. When we humble ourselves to the Lord we can find deliverance from the bondage of self and fly to freedom.View attachment 4280

If we would just trust in Gods ways we wouldn't be flying around those rafters trying to figure it all out. Let God out of the box and He will take you out of yours.

Yes, but how many times we try to figure things our for ourselves and then when we let God control our situation it all works out?

Humility is difficult for us to achieve because we have such pride. But the Lord teaches us humility and then He is where He belongs and we are where we belong.

I try not to fret and worry about things as I know God has it all in control and in His timing.

Example: we just bought a new camper. Where our old camper sits is very muddy right now and my husband was fretting on how we would haul it out as the only flat part is where the camper sits. We can't pull it forward because the truck would get stuck in the mud and also an upgrade to deal with which is muddy. We have to pull it out backwards with another vehicle, but my husbands truck has to be in the front to be able to pull it away down the road, which is no problem as he will be parked on the road and not the yard.

I got to thinking about how to pull it backwards through the mud and the small upgrade in the back and not get stuck. I put it before God and came back with laying a board path from the camper to the road. We didn't have another vehicle to tow it with and again he was fretting over that as what to do. I kept telling him not to worry as God would put the right people in our path and sure enough He did as a guy down the road was checking his mail when my husband drove by and he stopped and ask if he would be willing to help pull the camper with his tractor and he agreed. When my husband came home he told me all about how this guy would help us and then he looked at me with that look that just wanted to say "shut up" because I told him before that it would all work out and not to worry and fret about it.

When we give it to God, God will then be in control, amen.

The Lord always has a plan. I remember when I used to be a cab driver in Phoenix. Every once in awhile these cabs would break down. They usually had more than 400,000 miles on them. It never failed that within a couple of minutes someone would come by to help me out. They still do. I think they were angels God sent to help me.

When we are God's children, He helps us even in the small things.
