I am disappointed in the Western Media

With the aftermath of the killing of the US Ambassador in Libya, I have been listening to some of the correspondents particularly those of the BBC.

I listened to a BBC radio programme where one of their reporters interviewed some of the citizens of the Muslim world. They were so cautious so that they would not offend. These people who were responding to the outrage of the Muslims made it clear that the film should not have been posted, and people should be more sensitive to the feelings of the Muslims. Not once did I hear the BBC reporter ask these people, why are they so sensitive, when in fact they do the opposite to Christians, They burn our bibles, kill those who convert to Christianity. It look as though he was afraid to ask this question. It seems to me that the media wants to be friends of the Muslims and also the friend of the Western countries. I am not advocating hatred for Muslims..but we must always remember that one cannot straddle the fence.

On another note, I believe that the Western media gives too much publicity to the Muslims protests. I am not advocating a block out of the news, but these people want publicity and all it does is stoke their ego.
 
I cannot agree more about our media because they continue to refuse giving us ALL the facts! Case in point: Ambassador Christopher Stevens did NOT die of smoke inhalation- he was brutalized, raped, tortured and then SODOMIZED!

Libyans took Stevens to the hospital, where he died of smoke inhalation. The body has been given to the US, and if Stevens has been raped or tortured, or died from something other than smoke, that can be determined. So, why not until after the evidence comes in?

you know, for quite some time, i am actually (or should i say, i've been) convinced that the media is part of the world's end. If you think about it, who has more power to change people's mind then the media?

Let me tell you, if you go to cnn.com, and look at one of their "athiest" posts, look at how many hateful people you can find just due to one statement. It could be about anything , i remember there was a thread "where is god in allepo?"..

Do you know how many athiests posted some of the most ignorant words you ever read? it's sad.

One poster says, "I believe that the Western media gives too much publicity to the Muslims protests." The next poster goes in the opposite direction and criticized the media for not doing more to sensationalize the reporting.

I agree with the view that the media gives Muslim protests too much attention. The whole point of a protest is to get attention, and so giving attention encourages more protests. But, the media is interested in "selling papers", not in ignoring protests.

Ever notice that many protesters in foreign countries often hold signs with English words? They're banking on coverage by the western media.

"The man is alive. Move out of the way," others shout. "Just bring him out, man."
"Move, move, he is still alive!"
"Alive, Alive! God is great," the crowd erupts, while someone calls to bring..."

Doesn't sound like a rape mob. After they rescue the Ambassador, who was overcome by smoke, they take him to the hospital. But, many Christians are locked in a mode of hate to Muslims that they insist on believing the worst about the behavior of Muslims, in spite of all reason.

Christians only believe the worst about those who are the worst..those who like strapping bombs to their waists, those who kill because of people who convert from Islam to Christianity.

Hammer I think you are very biased..You cannot see the forest for the trees:sad

I agree that the Muslims are receiving favor from the media, while Christians are only getting negative publicity. Even the government shows this by allowing the Muslims to shut down the busy streets of New York just so they can pray for an hour. Heaven forbid some Christians do that! Moreso, what if a Christian brings up the word "Crusade"? Woops, did I...yes I did! Muslims go CRAZY over that topic and have even shouted at me during work because this came crawling into his mind.

Muslims indeed us fear to have their way, and even believe lieing is okay as long as it helps out their god or situation. The media is acting like they need to become friends with them. The president is afraid to meet with the prime minister of Israel due to the fast elections are coming up and he wants his muslim votes.

Are the muslims taking over the media? The US government? If so, then that'd explain why we're getting disappointed in the western media.
