I have been having dreams of playing the NA flute and went to a shop in the mountains that hard carves them......

Does anyone here play these instruments or know of any good books for beginners....

I am thinking of getting an A # tuned flute as this resonates most with me personally, but most people recommend an F.....

Anyways if anyone has any tips I would appreciate it.

Thanks.....

Not exactly, although I always have wondered how they do that?

There is some good sites for pics of these flutes at the bottom of the page...

They are all hand made out of cedar wood usually,

They have been used by the NA culture for thousands of years going back to the mayans....

I talked to a verteran player the other day and he explained something very interesting to me. It is called "playing the tree line". I guess you go on a solitary excursion high above the treeline, then you "play" notes according to the peaks and valleys that you see on the horizen..... So if you are in a heavily peaked area you would get a very different "song" than one coming from the "plains" of America or the desert.....

Pretty cool huh?! :D
