“No Weapon Formed Against You Will Prosper, My Testimonyâ€Â

November 12, 2000 was a dark and gloomy night. I was on my way to church when a drunk driver swerved into my turning lane and hit me in the back end. The gentleman must have been going around 70mph because my car was totaled. My case kept getting postponed due to this man’s continual lying. But as Proverbs 12: 22 says. “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.†Somehow as well, I was thought to be a man. Just like the scripture says, alcohol will inhibit your vision, confuse you and make you see strange things. Proverbs 23: 30-33 says it best, “Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusion things.â€Â
As usual the Sunday of the accident, my Dad left the house after me to go to church. He was amazed when he drove up to where his daughter was sprawled out on the highway. Dad could not do anything for his child. His daughter was lifeless, shriveled up and turning purple. The paramedic who came on the scene was off duty. She was a Christian and God had sent her in my direction. God cares for us! That gets me excited! Leaha rushed over to me filled with compassion. She performed CPR because my breathing had stopped. I was taken to ORMC Hospital and later transferred to Burke Rehab Center where I stayed a month. Leaha, my paramedic, thought I would have a broken spine and bones. I had nothing! Isn’t God good? I had only one scratch on my forehead where I hit the steering wheel.
Daniel was told that I would not remember anything from my past. But the Devil is a liar and has been lying since the beginning of time! It has been a little over two years and I can remember everything! I know who Daniel is, recall times from the past and my memory is great. There is no trace of amnesia! Praise God. The doctors had given Daniel no good news or hope. But we believe the report of the Lord! Because I had a mass concussion on my brain, surgery that cost way over $100,000, had to be performed immediately on the right side of my brain. (Later, United Healthcare dropped all of my medical bills!) I was bleeding ferociously and Daniel cried immensely. But the Lord holds all our tears in a bottle dear loved one. Psalm 56:8 says, “Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll (put my tears in your wineskin), are they not in your record?†Daniel’s pain was so intense that it felt like a dagger tearing through his heart. Maybe you are going through something right now. Your Father loves you and understands. Trust Him, today. Whatever you are going through, like the Don Moen song: “God will make a way.†Keep in mind what Psalm 30:5 says, “…weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.†The dreams Daniel and I had were about to vanish as I went into surgery. We had recently prayed,“ God don’t let us die in a car accident.†The surgery was a success! Because they had shaved part of my hair off the doctors told my husband I would be upset. My husband did not care how I looked. He was grateful to God that I was alive. My husband knew that our marriage was till death due us part. No matter what your husband or wife looks like you’d better stay with them too.
Each passing day I am becoming stronger and stronger. I stand here now to testify of God’s love and mercy! I should have died but God kept me for a reason. I’m a walking miracle. I am not entirely healed yet but I know God will totally heal me. At one point, I could not talk. Now I can praise God. I could not walk real well and would tire easily. But today my walker has been sold, and I can walk 3-4 miles again. Ordinary things like cleaning house, personal hygiene, and writing were difficult, even cooking. However, God has made me stronger. I even made a Mexican style dinner for twelve people for my mother-in-law’s anniversary! To God be all the glory! It is through his grace and strength that I am able to do all these things. As it states in Phil. 4: 13: “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.†As long as God is by my side there is nothing I cannot do. This very written testimony is a miracle in the making. I cannot see very well. I have to squint after I have carefully typed in order to see what has been written. It is my desire to help others that spurs me on.
As I was recovering in the hospital, I began to understand how easily it would be to die and never receive a second chance at salvation. It doesn’t matter how you are. God sent his son Jesus to die in our place because he loved us so much. If you have never accepted Jesus as your personal savior say this prayer with me: “ Dear Jesus, I believe you died for me to give me eternal life. Come into my heart and save me. I believe you are the Son of God. I confess you now as my Lord and Savior. Amenâ€Â. If you said that prayer from your heart I am so happy for you and I know the angels are rejoicing with you too.
If you are still waiting for your miracle, hang on. Your miracle could be just around the corner. Don’t stop believing. The God who healed and did mighty miracles in years past will do them today. Remember and read for yourself the stories of people healed in the Bible, like the man born blind. Everything is in God’s wise timing. He will not be late, not for a second. He created the world in 6 days. He will glorify himself through you. Don’t get tired of doing good. God has a miracle in store for you! Halleluiagh!
