Mammon is the devil. The people who are not on the side of God, they become an easy pray for the devil who pulls them gradually more and more into a net of sins.
The answer to this is repentance. We have all sinned in small or big ways. You must repent from your sinful past and make a U-turn away from sin and darkness. You must declare to God that your will is to do His will and ask Him to help you not to sin anymore.
