After reading the OT and NT accounts of the people that served God willingly and faithfully, I tend to kind of unconsciously compare and contrast between the bible men and women vs. the men and women of our day, in a manner that tries to suggest that I have more regards and deep respect for the bible guys than our people today…this is as if we don’t match up with them. That is ridiculous and strange, right? I realized that some of us also hold higher esteem for them than our people today, too.
Are some of us having the same issue too? It is not that it is something one deliberately does. It is probably a feeling we derived right from our childhood when we listened to the stories of those biblical heroes.
e.g one may think:
Whatever you say a little baby will never believe that all American soldiers with their guns and whatever can defeat a single Samson, whatever we think nothing compares to the level of humility Moses had, Job's sufferings, Paul's steadfastness in the Vine Yard etc...hope we get the idea?
Are those characters kind of very special? more important?
I hope the answer is NO
Well. I think I should slow down on threads. lol
