[__ Prayer __] I have a few prayer requests

Hi questdriven,

I'm very sad to hear this news. May the Lord strengthen you during this time. May your family grow close to Jesus. May your comfort be found in the promises of God.

Romans 8:38-39

New King James Version (NKJV)

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Update: He died around 7 this morning. Thank you all for praying for him.
We used to talk about how he'd be fully healed one day. I guess that did happen, just not in the way we expected it to. He's not paralyzed anymore, no bed sores, doesn't have to take pain medication. He's in Heaven where he doesn't have to feel depressed by all the problems we have anymore.

So sorry.

Praying for you and your mom and the family.

For the believer, the family's loss is the gain of blessedness 'with Christ, which is far better' (Philippians 1.23).

The day we had them take him off life support was the hardest, but after he died it took several days for it to really sink in.

Something interesting is the fact that now that he's passed it's actually allowed for some other issues to be fixed...that sounds wrong and I don't mean it that way, but it's true. It's like God fixed everything to work out.

Some of the verses that were chosen for his funeral:
"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
~II Timothy 4:6-8 KJV

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."
~Romans 8:18 KJV

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
~Psalm 116:15

I suppose they are pretty typical for verses chosen for a funeral, but they fit extremely well for him in any case. He was a strong Christian, and he did go through a lot of suffering.

Well, it's really wonderful that you guys can immediately relate to the meaning and comfort of those very strengthening and God honoring Scriptures that you've mentioned.

I'm sure in the days ahead, as the Lord spares us, such Bible verses will continue to come to your minds and bring some joy and strength to you guys.

Thanks for letting us know.

Blessings.
