Since my curiosity was getting the better of me. As most of you on here already probably know by now I have a radio show to do tomorrow night and I posted my picture for the first time to be on the slideshow. I still realize that I took a risk doing that but pictures are easier to steal when they aren't moving in my opinion.

So anyways here's my question for JohnDB, medievalglo, StoveBolts, Azalaya0716, and everybody else who either posts pictures of themselves in the photography section or just use one as your avatar. Aren't you afraid that there is a very real possibility that somebody might steal your picture and claim to be you or dupe other people with it?

I mean seriously, that stuff happens, you see it in documentaries all the time. You even hear about people stealing baby photos and claiming that's their child instead of yours. This thought also crossed my mind after I actually started considering posting my own baby picture as I don't want somebody else to use it to dupe others into thinking that it's their child regardless of how old it is. (Not to mention that I don't really like how I looked as a baby because I looked like an Indian even though I don't personally have a problem with Indians.)

So yeah I'm still thinking about it along with a picture of me when I was like around three or four years old holding a Barney stuffed animal, but I would really like to hear some thoughts and see some responses on this first. And if you don't post pictures of yourself is it because of the same reason?

Be yourself and don't let others control you.

Once...
Someone tried to post and message me as if they were my mother.
But they were much much more nice than my mother ever dreamed of being towards me and it took about a quarter of a second to spot it and report the fraud.

That's a really good point, but what if you have no idea this is going on? You hear about it all the time. People supposedly falling in love with somebody and it turns out that all they did was wind up falling love with your picture. The world is full of scam artists I'm afraid. Sad, but true.

Why do you think that I'm going on the radio tonight? To prove that I have nothing to hide and what you see is what you get with me. The only difference is that I seem to be cooler and more popular on here than irl lol!

Even if they do, what does it hurt?
Just so they don't get into your account.
People post pictures on Facebook all the time.

First of all that's a bit different because if you're smart you'll just stick to Facebook friends of people that you already know in real life, and second of all,.. what if hypothetically speaking you fell in love with a guy and you found out later on that he really wasn't the person that you thought he was? Meanwhile that said man who had his picture stolen is just as much a victim and doesn't even know that you really exist.

And what if hypothetically speaking a person claimed to be you and then went out and committed a felony? Also don't forget the innocent babies and children whose pictures are being stolen and didn't even have a say whether or not their pictures were posted in the first place. Internet identity theft is a real thing.

Good luck, I don't do those things, anyways.
I have posted pics on here.
If they commit a felony, it might be difficult, to convince them that they are that person, when they see the real person.
Be a headache though!

Umm,.. I'm sorry but that's just rude. I was just trying to warn you that it's not the greatest idea in the world. You do what you want I don't care.

You just ain't understanding her right...it wasn't rude. She was saying it would be a headache for you.

Huh?? Are you serious or are you just trying to make me feel better,.. or both?

I'm serious...
You Yankees can't understand redneck...or southern expressions.

Diane was typing as she would speak so you are missing out on the inflections. I live in the middle of it. Southern Belle's wouldn't be that crass....now a woman from NY? Yeah ..she would.

Hehe oops! I was reading it to mean that she was actually calling me a headache. Sorry I sure feel stupid now. :/

Lol
No, sweetie, I wasn't being rude or calling you a headache.
I was saying it would be a headache going through all the mess of straightening out the identity theft.

Sometimes reading text is harder than actually hearing the way the words are said. :wall Lol! Now that's a real headache right there. :lol
