Can anyone recomend some really good funk and soul artists. I have a few artsits ( Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Little Richard, Rick James, Early Micheal Jackson, The Isley Brothers), but I really want some more to get into the genre.

I also love a little disco ( emphasis on little). The Bee Gees are pure awesome

James Brown created funk, The Ohio Players, Maxann, Tom Brown, and The Soul Searchers, Bohannon, Sly and the Family Stone, Zapp, Slave, Heatwave, Cameo, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Parliment, Tower of Power, Cold Blood, The Brothers Johnson, certain Led Zepplin songs like the Crunge. Also Graham Central Station' which is one of the best at it, AWB, New Birth, and there are many more who made one or 2 hits and just faded away, I have more if you want them.

Awesome! thanks guys. I'll have to hit youtube up and make a list of records to pilfer at my good will store.

They have a huge colelction of records that span the genres form Funk to noise, to blue grass.

I completed my Rush and Led Zepplin collection for under 10 bucks.

Thank you very much Lewis especially. I already new of James Brown, Parliment, and Sly, but many others you mentioned I havne't looked into yet. Thanks. :)

Classic rock is just plain awesome. Personally I think the 60s - 80s was the most creative time in mainstream music. With everything coming to a halt in the mid 90s :sad

That was definatley the most creative time, but I like the 90's as well, but more for 'catchyness'.

Music is a love afair I just can't loose. :yes
