I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Do we want to share a testimony regarding the words of Jesus to tarry till He came to them ? ( to give them power from in High)

John 14 has to be included to know what is coming to them, it is the comforter, the Holy Ghost, John 14:26, which is Christ saying: I will come to you, who said He will not leave us comfortless, He will come to us. ( to dwell with us and be in us and establish HIs Kingdom in us.)

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 1, speaks of the disciples being baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days after Jesus spoke to them. ( Jesus was speaking to the disciples on the third day after the Passover, when He was risen from the dead.)

Jesus went away for not many days ( a few days) which was seven days not with them. ( plus the three days He went away to die and rise again. Jesus showed it was essential for them that He went away.)

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Jesus tells of the same matter a few verses lower. A little while and you shall not see me, and again a little while, and you shall see me, because I go to the Father. ( when Christ had received the Kingdom. Luke 19:15.) and the disciples wondered what He meant, a little while and you shall not see me, and again, a little while and you shall see me, and because I go to the Father ?

They said therefore, what is this that He said, A LITTLE WHILE ? we cannot tell what He said.

Jesus knew they desired to ask Him, and said to them, do they enquire among themselves of what He said, a little while and they shall not see Him, and again a little while, and they shall see Him ?

Jesus goes away and they have sorrow, but He will see them again, their heart shall rejoice, no man takes their joy from them. In that day ( of seeing Him again) they ask nothing of the Son, they ask the Father in the name of the Son, and the Father gives it to us.

Jesus was crucified for us on the day of Passover, and was dead for three days and nights, until resurrected. Jesus tells the disciples to tarry for Him for a few days, ( seven days) until He comes to them. ( to be given power from on High.)

So Jesus goes away for a little while, when they did not see Him, ( 3 days until resurrected.) and a little while and they see Him again, and because He goes to the Father to receive the Kingdom ( after seven days He is away again, which they tarry for Him, until He comes to them, until endued with power from on High) then they see Him again. ( in them in Spirit, which is the Holy Ghost sent to them in His name from the Father.)

( Jesus is 3 days away until resurrected, 7 days away until the power/Spirit given from on High, and then was 40 days seen of the disciples. 50 in total until Pentecost. Matthew 12:40. Acts 1:5. 1:3.)

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

John 16:18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

John 16:22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.

Acts 1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Samuel told Saul, to tarry seven days for him, till He came to him. ( how Jesus said He would come to us, after SEVEN DAYS.)

Saul tarried seven days, but Samuel came not, and Saul ended waiting, and offered a burnt offering. Samuel asked, what Saul had done ? Saul said because he saw the people scattered, and Samuel came not in the appointed days, and the Philistines gathered themselves together, and Saul said the Philistines will come down, and he had not made supplication to the Lord, so he broke the words, and offered a burnt offering.

Samuel said to Saul, he has done foolishly: he has not kept the commandment of the Lord his God, which he commanded him: for now would the Lord have established his kingdom upon Israel for ever.

But now his kingdom shall not continue: the Lord has sought Him a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be captain over his people, because Saul had not kept that which the Lord commanded him.

And Samuel said, Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Samuel told Saul, he has rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord has rejected him from being king over Israel.

And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. ( And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. Isaiah 11:5.

And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

1 Samuel 10:8 And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do.

1 Samuel 13:8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.

1 Samuel 13:11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;
12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.

1 Samuel 13:13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

1 Samuel 15:26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

David ( who replaced Saul, being king over Israel.) wanted to build a house for the Lord.

The Lord told David, He will set up his seed after him, and establish his kingdom. (Solomon.)

He builds the house to the name of the Lord, and God will establish his kingdom for ever.

If he ( Solomon) will commit iniquity, God will chasten him, but His mercy shall not depart away from him, as God took it from Saul, put away before David.

The house of David and his kingdom, shall be established for ever before David. Davids throne shall be established for ever.

As David was told by the Lord that his kingdom shall be established for ever before David, this is David in Psalm 16, confirming the very same, how he has set the Lord always before his face, ( Acts 2:25, for I FORESAW THE LORD ALWAYS BEFORE MY FACE.) because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life: in your presence is fulness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Acts 2 confirms the same testimony, and Acts 13 continues, as concerning that God raised Him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, God said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. ( Isaiah 55:3.)

Wherefore he says also in another psalm, you shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

But he, who God raised again, saw no corruption. ( the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to establish His Kingdom on the throne of David, for ever.)

2 Samuel 7:8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

2 Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Acts 2:25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

Acts 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Acts 13:34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.
35 Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

He sits upon the throne established by mercy, in truth in the tabernacle of David. ( God returned and built again the tabernacle of David which was fallen down, and built again the ruins of it and set it up. Amos 9:11.)

The Son of man came with the clouds of Heaven to the Ancient of days, and there was given Him dominion and glory and a Kingdom, that all people shall serve Him, His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Isaiah 16:5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

Daniel 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

Christ testified how judgement comes upon that generation ( which did not believe in Him and His everlasting Kingdom.) how a greater than Solomon was there.

Concerning the Son of ma, the Son of God, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh.

We are built up a Spiritual house ( the house/Kingdom, the Lord said to David He would build for ever.) offering up Spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

An entrance shall be ministered unto us abundantly into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Matthew 12:42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Romans 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
