Hello, my name is Domenic. I am a writer, and have been a Christian all my life. I have been a teacher of the Bible for forty five years...I still have ten jillion miles to go before I can even start to understan my God.

A tree by any other name, is still a tree, or is it?

There are so many trees spoken of in the Bible, put together, would make a good size forest. These are all symbolic trees, and are taken as such…all but one, the tree in the Garden? Why are all these other taken as symbolic, and that, the most important one, not?

Hi, My name is Domenic...I started my life taking my toys apart...to see what made them tick.

LOL, typical little boy, you were. Yoda speech, my grandson 8.

You know I've never really thought about your question in that way. We do well with the other trees, even the tree of life (Jesus).
I asked my daughter your question. She said it is self, ego. The opposite of being all about Jesus and being all about me.

So how would you define the tree of knowledge of good and evil?

I think the tree is Symbolic. Read Genesis 3:15. Tell me what you see there? God is talking to Satan...who is not saying one word?

You're welcome .... and I am pleased you already feel at home here. I felt the same way when first I joined CFnet, and I still feel this way. So many brothers & sisters in Christ here ... with various family members anticipating babies or raising children... various ones engaged or newly married ... it's a wonderful family!

Read Genesis 3:15. Tell me what you see there? God is talking to Satan...who is not saying one word?

God is talking to satan and satan is not saying a word.

there will be enmity between satan and his workers against Christ and His disciples.

satan will bruise the heal of Christ, in that physically on the cross but also through attacks on those who are His.

But Jesus Christ will crush the head of satan. He did this at the cross, He took victory over sin and death leaving satan powerless. He continues to have victory through us and will in the end finish satan off in the lake of fire. John 16:11 "the ruler of this world has been judged."

My God says, "The truth will set you free." I have been seeking the truth all my life. The closer I come to it...the further it draws me from man. Men do not want to search out Gods truth. They have their own truth. They tell others what they can see, and cut out their tongue...yet Gods servants will speak. If not in this house, in the wilderness. If Gods servents fall silent, God will have the rocks speak. The truth will not die under the feet of men, in this house, or on this earth.
