i would follow God even if there was no lake of fire.

I don't need a lake of fire to motivate me.
 
How many people do you know who only follow God because of the threat or promise of hell?

Note I said they Only follow because of hell, they have no other reason for following Jesus.

They may follow him because of his promises of rewards and blessings. What if those things are not there?
 
I just believe Christ was truth and think he was a good example, it has nothing to do with being afraid of a lake of fire.

If I believe in Christ then I have nothing to worry about as im saved, and if I don't believe in Christ then I have nothing to worry about because I would think it's all just a load of garbage.

I don't need a lake of fire to fear me into believing in something or someone.
