the battle continues...

LOL. this may sound pretentious, but I think I prefer gelato. creamy texture, increasingly wide assortment of flavors available, plus...it doesn't get as hard in the freezer. on the other hand, ice cream is way more established, and some flavors seem to do better in ice cream as opposed to gelato, such as chocolate+peanut butter combo flavors. and...it seems easy to make a milk shake with ice cream. i dont think gelato is really meant for that.

so...if you have a preference...which do you prefer? :-)

Either one!
Isn't gelato the italian word for ice-cream?
You mean there's a difference?

i dont know how it is in Italy, but...

here in the US of A, gelato is usually a bit lighter, it has...I dunno...a more elegant texture, usually. some brands are deluxe, all natural, etc., others...use all kinds of chemicals to achieve that texture. and yet...I enjoy both kinds :-) .

I personally think gelato is the way to go with fruit flavors. with dense flavors...mix ins, swirls, peanut butter, what have you...I prefer ice cream.

not a big deal, obviously (LOL). i think i posted this just trying to start a light convo, no big thing.

i suppose sorbet would be the -best- for fruit flavors, but...i like the creaminess of gelato.

sorbet doesn't have milk in it.
Just water and fruit flavors.
It's very refreshing in the summertime.

also, there must be something on the difference on the net....

Prof. Google knows everything!

this is dumb talking about dumb things
Where's Wrigley when you need him?
I'm telling Ralph
And Reba would never permit this

I think that it's a very good and important discussion...
One that needs a lot of personal investigation.

Lol. I was just trying to make light convo....
Oh I agree wholeheartedly.
And I meant what I said about this subject needing a lot of personal investigation.

I think that I need to go to the store and buy up gelato and ice cream for investigation purposes and do a lot of sampling. (Let's not forget sherbet and sorbet as well)

I've been working on a half gallon of cuppaccino fudge blitz ...

Gonna take me a while to get past this one

Uh oh,
Mapco has their icees at $.89 no matter what size.

I'm going to need a 12 step program to get past this...
It tasted so good after a hot day at work... like when it hits your lips....*sigh*
