Prayer is powerful. The Bible says that the Lord would have ended this world sooner were it not for the prayers of the Saints. Is the soul of one man worth any less? I admit, Obama is a very dispicable man who's hard to love, but if we pray that God will open Obama's eyes with sincere love for him, then the Lord will have mercy on him (and indirectly on our country). So all of you on this forum, lets pray for Obama with sincere love! And pray for yourselves that Christ will help you to love him.

The very principle of the following passage applies today, in much the same manner as it did to Solomon and his people.

2 Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chr 7:15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

Dear Heavenly Father~

I look to You, the Maker of heaven and earth, in Whose hands the Universe is sustained, under Whose power all mankind is held. . .

Our nation has turned away from following Your most basic tenents, and many of our leaders corrupt the understanding and ways of even your own children. Our courts have fallen from the way of justice, and the wicked pursue the righteous like plunder. Our people commit murder and great evil, before Your holy throne oh God, daily. With shamed face I plead for mercy.

Look on us and have mercy oh God. Be gracious and keep a wide open door to minister Your word still. Do not allow evil people to continue to rule, but put an end to their devised plans. Cause those who hold mighty positions to be quickened, let Your truth be heard that it may pierce the hearts of our leaders. Turn the hearts of many to righteousness again. And Lord ~ let the changes begin in us, Your own family. Move in us to call out a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ, even in these bitter times. Sanctify Your people in this adversity.

Let this country, founded on Your principles from Your word~ not diminish because of corruption, but revive Your word again in us as many tremble and fear. Do not allow us to be linked with nations who have corrupted themselves before us, Lord. Grant us a revival of Your holiness Father, a witness of Your truth, and one more chance to serve Your name. For You openned the doors to the gospel of Christ here in the beginning Lord ~ it is still Your work not to allow any man to shut them.

Thank You Father for hearing my plea, thank You Father for Your grace and love and protection.:heart

Thank you, thank you for requesting prayer for the president. Christians are obligated to pray for those in authority, not slice and dice with their mouths. This country is ripe for an awakening, and many, many will come to the Lord in that time. I wholeheartedly agree that we need to pray, pray, pray that their hearts will be turned to the Lord. Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Thank you!
