Bible Study I'm having a hard time figuring out what this means

In the US we live an average life span of about 78.5 years. Given the choice, however, most of us would choose a pleasant, peaceful, enjoyable, fun life for those 78.5 years, right? I know I would. But here's the caveat. For most of us, achieving a pleasant, enjoyable, peaceful, fun life involves embracing the world and the sinfulness that goes along with it.

Compared to eternity, these 78.5 years is but a blink of an eye. Are we willing to spend eternity in hell just for the sake of obtaining that blink of an eye's worth of pleasure? Jesus is saying, "Get your priorities straight!"

Oh okay, so it's like when Jesus was telling the woman to go and sin no more?

Matthew 18:9. (Obviously it's about sin but that's all I understand.)

Always read the whole passage, don't just read a verse.

Matt 18:6-9 is about what causes people to sin, to stumble in there Christian life and verse 7 says woe to those or that which causes believers to sin and goes on to say get rid of those things and goes on to use the figure of speech known as hyperbole.

In a nutshell if porn is a problem, throw out every book, magerzine etc that is pornagraphic and set up the anti virus to block all porn.
If it's drink, do the same thing, throw it out, sign up with A.A. and don't drink etc etc etc

Matthew 18:9. (Obviously it's about sin but that's all I understand.)

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.

to keep your eye single is to keep your garden enclosed so an enemy/serpent does not enter in and sow tares ....
