Scripture makes it clear in Romans that man does not become a sinners because he sins, but that man sins because he is born a sinner (inherited from our parents, Adam) (Romans 5:12) So all men are born sinners. It is the nature of all men!
But the Adamic offspring (children of men) were not convicted of sin in themselves, because it is a natural tendency for man to display the attributes of selfishness, pride, lust, and jealousy, with the results of murder, heinous crimes, thievery, covetousness, idolater and every evil imagination of his mind. (Rom. 3:10-18) Without consciences condemnation of his acts. But sin brings death to all men, for all men die. And if all men die (children before they committed an act of sin die, along with good men, religious men. Yes, all men, good and bad. So there had to be a universal reason for a universal effect. There is! all men are descended from Adam, therefore all men are born sinners. (Rom. 5:14)
Wherefore came the law! (Rom. 5: 14-21) The law in it's self is not sin, but gives the reason for death. (Rom. 7: 7-14) So by the Law, I'am convicted of sin, of which I, in my mind before the Law came, to me was not sin. So now that I'am convicted of sin by the Law, I find that the law only convicts me, but does not do anything else for me other than condemning me to death!
Wherefore came God's Grace. (Rom. 7: 15- 8: 1-17) (Rom. 5:15-21). But is only available by faith alone, for without faith...there is no Grace! (Rom. 4: 1-25; 5: 1-11)
