iPad Hype

I just got an iPad from my work, and this has to be about the most over-hyped gadget I've ever used. Thank goodness I still have my issued laptop as well, because I can't I amagine getting much done with this.

If you use an iPad, what do you find it most useful for? Any tricks of the trade or helpful hints to pass along? :type

iPad....eh :shrug
It's just an oversised iPod touch, and the music is not fully integrated with the rest of the iPad from what I've seen. It's not even a fully-fledged OS. The idea is ok...but implemented badly. I have a smartphone and a laptop. I want to get an iPod touch, but I really can't see a need for an iPad. It can't decide being a massive iPod or being a mini computer :lol

iPads are gadgets and not meant for any real computing. It's all about the apps. Some are actually very handy and useful, some useless, and some fun.

I have a new Touch and my wife got an iPad last year for her business and for what she does, it is much better than a laptop. I haven't even seen it though since her partner uses it all the time.

Baha! Beat you to the first reply Free! Ha! :lol
Hahaha. It threw me off when I posted. I thought I would be faster but it took me a bit to find that video. A co-worker sent it to me today.

Well this is great. I check in and see I have 4 replies. Collectively, I've been able to surmise that if I ever want to start a basement band, I just need to find a few other guys with iPads. :lol This only goes to further my suspicion that Apple needs only to throw anything out there, and people will come running.

Don't forget that there was an iPod Touch or two in there. ;)

While this is certainly true with many people and Apple's cult-like following, others such as myself have no brand loyalty and simply get what works best. I used to be anti-Apple until I saw how well the Mac's worked and I was sold on the iPods by the user interface, and I think that is really what got Apple's iPods off the ground, because it sure wasn't the sound quality.

With the Touch I have all sorts of Bible, e-reader, sports, utility, note taking, and weather apps and games, not to mention Facetime, music, video and picture capabilities, email and internet browsing. All superior to my company given BB Bold. They really can be very handy little tools.

Although they can be useful, like Free said, I often find I don't need all these crazy flashy gadgets and apps. I really despise Apple's cult-like following.

If you want something portable, just get the Macbook Air. Admittedly it is much more expensive, but it can do so much more than the iPad ever could.

Bump it up against another ipad and transfer stuff to your ipad just by doing that.
