I found a nice website for pet owners, called dogster.com
It’s free to put up photos of your pet, and to make diary entries, talk on Dogster.com forums, and gather treats for your dog’s web page.
I’ve made a page for my dog, and have met several nice dog owners in the forum.
Most of them are responsible pet owners.
If you’d like to see Peppy’s web page, she can always be found at the simple URL: http://www.dogster.com/?228579.
Unfortunately, yesterday, Peppy got hold of some old food the neighbor's excess cats had torn out of our garbage cans, and dropped on the ground.
So, in hopes of spurring some people to act on the results of bad pet ownership, I've made this diary entry at dogster.com:
Peppy’s Diary Entry
Yesterday I had a good day, plenty of outdoors time, a nice walk, and
a ride in the car.
My owner let me stay out in the back yard an extra long time yesterday, so I could soak up some sun. I did, and, I also did some sniffing around, and found
some old food the stray cats had ripped out of our garbage bags.
We have some cats who keep having kittens, and the kittens will go into our back yard, and eat food out of our garbage cans. YUCK!
Sometimes, the cats leave old meat on the ground, and I found some yesterday, and ate it, because I like to eat meat, anyways.
Well, this morning about 2:30 a.m. I woke up my owners, so they would let me go outside, because the old meat the stray cats had dropped and I had eaten, had given me diaherreah!
Now, this morning, all I want to do is lay on the couch. I don't want to eat, or play, I just thump my tail, and wait until I feel better.
I wish cat owners would stop letting their cats have kittens over and over and over!
The stray kittens poop and pee in my yard, and my owner is worried they will give me worms.
I sure hope we dont' have to go to the vet's, and spend my doggie toy and treat money to get rid of a parasite that my owner already got out of me when I was a puppy!
My owner is a responsible pet owner, and would never think of letting me run around the neighborhood and ripping into other people's garbage!
That's not right, is it?
Oh well. Maybe the nice people on Dogster will kindly mention spaying and neutering to any of their neighbors who own cats, but, who are not responsible about owning their pets.
Pets depend on their owners to keep them healthy, secure, and from being a nuisance and a danger to other pets in the neighborhood. It would sure help out a lot if ALL pet owners would do their part.
For now, I have to suffer with intestinal upset because of stray kitties eating our garbage, and making a mess in our back yard!
So sad.
I am a BIG supporter of spaying and neutering all animals. Pet breeding has gotten so bad, it could become a health hazard, not to mention all the animals who are killed every day, because pet owners can't scrape together enough money to spay their pet, or, motivate themselves to go to a clinic that offers discount spaying and neutering.
They sure can find money to buy beer, liquor, satellite tv, video games,
gold chains, rims for their cars, or a host of other non-essential items.
usually, these types of people also let their kids run around in raggedy clothes, cruddy shoes, and get them a hair cut about once every 6 months.
Go figger.
We have to pay for their slothful, lazy behaviors.
