Is “Stairway to Heaven†Appropriate for Church?

Personally, I feel it's the most overrated rock song ever and it certainly has no place in a worship environment. :yes
Have you ever heard the blue-grass version ?

Not that it is any more apropos for church than the original.

i just had a gospel quartet at my church that is nominated for the dove award and they are worth the time to listen too. but its sales and while i know they live off the gospel.

but shouldnt we uplift the lord first

would you want a best pastor reward and have a national ceremony with a trophy given to the most liked sermon?

is that what the lord wants?
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. (Luke 16:15)

I think that song is questionable and I was kind of disappointed in Dolly for recording it. =/
Dolly Parton is a satanist. Here’s one of many info sites--> Dolly Parton

When I looked at the lyrics online I was wondering just this same thing. What is the "May Queen"? Do you know, Sojourner? It kind of sounds like something pagan to me...
"Led Zeppelin is satanic to the core. The band introduced personal occult symbols on one of their albums. Guitarist Jimmy Page of Zeppelin is a devout follower of Satanist, Aleister Crowley, who proclaimed himself as "The Beast 666." Aleister Crowley was also a 33rd and 97th Degree Freemason and is recognized as the master Satanist of the 20th century. In 1971, guitarist Jimmy Page bought Crowley’s Boleskine House on the shore of Loch Ness where Crowley practiced his hellish, satanic sex-magick rituals, including human sacrifices.

Guitarist Jimmy Page actually performed Crowley magical rituals during their concerts. Their song "Stairway to Heaven" carries the reference "May Queen," which is the name of a hideous poem by Crowley."

I agree. I didn't check out sojourner4Christ's link yet, but I do know Dolly has said some things contrary to any forum of mainstream Christianity.

It surprised me at first, but that IS the way of the world. :shrug
