Is gambling a problem in the UK?
A study of gambling habits in the UK has revealed that there are more than a quarter of a million problem gamblers.
That figure is virtually unchanged since the last major report in 1999.
The Gambling Prevalance Study found that because of a drop in National Lottery sales, the overall number who gamble fell from 72% to 68%. But around 32 million people still took part in some type of betting last year.
Researchers questioned more than 9,000 people about 17 types of gambling, including scratchcards, online betting and casinos.
The government is currently reviewing plans to build super-casinos.
Is gambling too widespread?
Do you enjoy the occasional flutter or are you a "problem gambler"?
Can "super-casinos" help regenerate an area?
Should there be limits on gambling advertising?

I'll never forget the housing estate where I grew up
I had a long view of the main shops on my way downhill to them. The Post Office was next to a Betting Shop & many would come out with their giro, go straight into the gambling den & come out broke
Yes, it's a big problem
& online casinos etc have only made it worse
