God never puts sickness on His own children though. We never see Jesus, despite the myriad thousands that were healed, ever one time say "whoa, hold on. Can't heal you, the Father put this on you, can't take it off, you were disobedient. Hope you learn the lesson fast. Come back when you know What He was teaching you."
Everyone He healed, He healed preCross, and so no one was even forgiven at that point. Yet He healed them ALL. And they were all sinners.
You are right about that, The Word can heal anyone who can accept him.
Repentance for sin has always been available to anyone who turned to God, but not the ability to overcome sin. That is what Jesus did for us.
As we can see it is God who, in His anger at sin, publicly makes our sin visible to all with disease and even hardships in our lives. But if we do not hid from Him, but seek repentance, He will heal us.
Num 12:9 And
the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle;
and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee,
lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
13 And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
KJV
John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole:
sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
God will not tempt or make man sin, it is the devil who tempts us to be disobedient unto God, diseases and plaques are the punishment from God for the sin as God has Warned us ahead of time not to partake in so that we do not suffer afflictions. When we continue to eat of the forbidden tree(devil’s fruit brought forth by his words) to learn to do good and evil, God said that we will die and all who continue in this ungodly lifestyle is suffering still today for they walk contrary to God eating of the wrong tree, instead of the tree of life (Jesus God’s Word) to gain godly wisdom and brings forth the blessings of God instead of the curses in their life. We no longer have to sacrifice bulls and goats for they did not take away our sins, it just gave us a way to live another year in our sinful ways, never changing us. God does not need the blood of bulls and goats, He owns everything already. It was punishment of hard labor of them and loss of livestock of these sacrifices in order to make them suffer during them, that they were under for their continued sinfulness.
Jesus died to make a way so that we do not have to be afflicted any longer or labor or suffer the loss of livestock of these sacrifices, due to falling into sin for eating the fruit of the devil‘s temptations. He made a better way, by allowing us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices unto God, to take our sinful ways away .
The devil is the tormentor and the adversary as well. When children reject God‘s input and care in their life, He sends them out in the world with out The Father to protect them to fend for themselves, since they want nothing to do with Him, though He is GOOD, they can not hear correction it offends them, so they keep rejecting His Word to live by and travel into the darkness, far from the Light. There is much torment and heat in the darkness of hell! We see it all around us.
Do you know any believers who are ever sick? I am sure you do, and we ourselves have an illness from time to time because our body is still on us and fights to have it‘s way and is Corruptible, but our spirit man is in the process of raising up into the incorruptible body/tent/tabernacle that God has waiting for us for those who persevere and remain faithful to overcome our lusts.
In the mean time, we now understand that if we repent to God for any short comings, that we have the right to healing if we Believe the works that Jesus did on the cross. Not only did Jesus pay our debt, and take all the accumulated laws from us, But his sacrifice made a way to be reunited with God by the Spirit of God whom works in us who keep faithful to cleanse us and nourishes us with the Word which is also the living Water as Jesus called himself, to take away our sins. This is two fold, for it means past sins forgiven, and take away our sins so that we do not do them anymore.
Rom 3:25
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness
for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
KJV
When we first come to accept Christ, all of our past sins up to the point are removed from our record. God does this so that no man can boast of why they were accepted, And to make it possible for all to come no matter your past sin. For no man can claim sinless for we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
But from there, we must begin to walk in the Word and as we learn of him we are now accountable for each new way of thinking we have received. We shall stumble from time to time as our Father is teaching us how to walk in His Word, for we are spiritual babes at first knowing nothing just like all newborn’s are at first, but born this time from above to our mother heavenly Jerusalem by the Spirit who teaches us of the Father.
And as long as we recognize our sin when we stumble as we grow with Christ, and repent of it and turn away, getting back in line to the path that leads to life, by getting back up when we fall and not give up and fall away from our faith, then God is faithful to reach out His hand, which is Jesus His Word, to strengthen us and help lift us back up on our two feet as we are learning how to walk with Christ as our Lord. And as we grow into sons our chastising of the Lord gets less and less as our sinful ways are diminishing with each growing pain that brings us into maturity in Christ. The measure of a full man.
We begin through the fallen Adam, in the image of the beast or our self survival nature of dog eat dog. And that is why Jesus was placed in the manger(animal trough), for He is our Bread that we in our beastly nature ,must feed upon, which came from heaven that proceeds from the Father’s mouth and why he said his body is true meat for us to chew on and his blood drink. For he is The Word of God(The Seed) and his blood is the Spirit of God that forms us into the children of God.
