Is High Fructose Corn Syrup bad for you? I have heard some say that it's bad and that it causes obesity. The reasoning is that corn syrup is an artificial sweetner and it doesn't let your body know when you are full, therefor you keep eating and eating.
 
Too much sugar is probably always bad for you (it isn't an artificial sweetener, it's simply used as a sugar replacement- fructose is a sugar). High fructose corn syrup is in sweetened drinks, and those generally won't make you full. Also, there's been at least one study that indicates fructose tends to make you gain weight more than sugar, for whatever reason.

Fructose is sugar, but what is the corn syrup part made of?
 
Virtually anything is bad for you at a certain quantity. Even oxygen.

HFCS is processed corn to make a sweet syrup. Its not artificial, but it is used as a substitute for sugar in many foods/drinks/candy because it is cheaper.

There are so many sugar or sugar products available in the US, and their are many people who ingest too many of these products on a daily basis. I know, I used to be a huge sugar addict, and my weight suffered from it. :)

You will be amazed at how overly sweet these products are once you eating them.
