Is it a bad witness for a pastor to have a trophy wife?

Sadly this tends to be true. It's wrong, but it seems to be the sad truth. I've known a few women like this.

Oh, and this happens to men too. I've known a couple men like this too. What happens with men is, if you respect a woman enough to not go after her like a rabid animal, she tends to assume you aren't interested in her because that's the kind of behaviour she's been accustomed to from men who are interested in her.

And for handsome men, they seek relationships with women who see who the guy is, not just their outer beauty.

Nope. Then they spend all their time worrying about how to protect what's "theirs" from being taken by their spouse. Afterall, most people didn't get to be significantly wealthy by being overly generous and unconcerned about preserving their wealth.

I had a boss who expected new employees in training to come in on Saturday for training on their own time. They didn't know that until they worked that Saturday and then didn't see it in their paycheck.

Probably true.

Generally speaking, us guys are to sexual attraction in marital decisions as women are to wealth and status in decisions of marriage. I believe it's because that's just how we are fundamentally wired as human beings. The sooner a person realizes that in life, the more likely they'll make a good, rational decision about who they should marry, and who they should not.

Sure! The status and respectability. Then they can demand that you respect them. I'm married to a pastor. I would think that these types of women have a lot to hide and are feeling guilty.

This is true to a certain extent with some women. The worse you treat them, the more they like you. Women are so used to being fawned over that it makes them wonder, why is this guy immune and not licking my feet? He must have something going for him...
