Is it a sin for Christians to eat greasy bacon?

Is it a sin for Christians to eat greasy bacon? Some believe it is a sin to eat meat from a pig. But what is really Biblical in the scheme of things?

Biblically we are instructed to stay away from unclean things...swine being on the list. It isn't good for our bodies. The deeper "scheme of things" is swine are symbolic of idolatry, false teachers, preachers, etc. They are unclean to us and can kill our souls!

Hi Whirlwind.
Why isn't pork good for our bodies? I did a nutritional lookup between pork and lamb, and lamb was way more worse for you than pork...

I think because the creatures on the "unclean list" are scavengers. Created to get rid of the filth in the world...to take it into their bodies so we don't. Same with the spiritual aspect. If we partake of the flesh of the unclean we take in their poison. As the flesh of Christ heals...the flesh of swine (false teaching) makes us ill or kills. And, just as pork, shrimp, crab, etc....tastes good, so does spiritual deception.

Animal fats are really good for us.

If the low fat, no fat, lean meat, veg only, salads rule, diets really worked, then we all would be way thinner. I know I would be LOL because for years I ate all the "right" things and still gained a bit of weight. Then I started reading up for myself (seems to be the constant thing in my life that changes the way I see things: I read it for myself LOL )

Animals fats, coconut oil (VERY good for you to cook with, it has no cholesterol at all and speeds up metabolism....this oil burns fat ! ) and Ghee (clarified butter) , butter, cream, cheese , lard. I now eat far more protein and good natural fats (no transfats) Do not heat up olive oil, it looses all its good qualities, eat it cold over your food.

Eat the fat with the meat, do not take the skin off the chicken, cook with lard. :lol :yes the opposite of what you have been told. Your cholesterol will drop, your arteries will clear up, and your blood pressure will drop. Eat nutrient dense foods, like Broccoli (with a butter sauce) and Spinach . Stay away from empty calories in white bread and processed foods. Yuck, its poison.

Learn to ferment things like Sauerkraut and Kimchi. Get Kambucha going in your kitchen and teach you kids to drink this instead of Colas. Get some culture: Ferment something :lol You can join my Fermentation group on Facebook, we share the "how to" there. Just type in "Fermentation" in the groups section and voila !

Second comes veg and very last your starch. I avoid starch like bread, rice, potatoes, because you get plenty carbs in when you eat fruit and veg. Apples are very high in carbs but they are good carbs.

Cornelius, your on your way to eating real good.....

Also stay away from the whites. white flour, table salt, SUGAR ......

If possible us organic , hard to do that, with the price !

I think I'll try what you're saying here. I need to lose weight and to drop my blood pressure. I want to do this without meds. I have dropped it a bit with lowering salt intake but it still needs to come down. From what you are saying....empty calories, starches, bread, sugars are the culprit with both weight and BP.

How about chocolate? Where does it fit on your list? :D

If you want to do it the right way, buy a book by Sally Fallon called "Eat fat Loose Fat" she tells you all you need to know and its not difficult to do.

Chocolate ....mmmm I must admit I buy some from time to time. But then, buy a GOOD one like Lint and have one square. :) Better a little good, then a lot of bad.

Oh...I buy the good chocolate. It's the "have one square" part I have trouble with.
:gah Thank you for the advice....I'll look for the book.

Your hungry? The only thing around me to eat are sunflower seeds, a peach and some grapes my son picked from our vine. I need some meat with a big hunk of fat!

Can you guys buy raw milk in the US? Its really good for you, but do not drink the pasteurized stuff, its just plastic. I buy raw milk from my farmer neighbor . I make Kefir from it, drink it as is, and sometimes make my own cheese from it. Actually I make the cheese from the Kefir :)

:biglol People over here in the USA think milk comes out of those simi transparent plastic jugs, they would never dream it comes from a COW

Our son has stared a farm for his family , they have baby 7 coming next month.

He has goats, and now a couple of cows, chickens , rabbits., he bought some turkeys for Thanksgiving,
but we do not know if they are going to make it ?
He made cages to keep them safe from what ever would like to eat them, but he must have gotten a bad batch half of them are dead.
Every thing he grows is organic. He buys as much as he can from the Amish.

One day he looked in our freezer and seen I had store ice cream. I thought he was my parent for a while, he really let into me. But we have lived this long on junk.
