Is it a sin to get your tongue pierced?

Probably not. Earrings certainly are approved in light of

Pro 25:12 As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

Even nose rings might be, provided the word nezem in

Eze 16:12 And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head

implies nose ring. Young's literal translation has it thus

Eze 16:12 And I give a ring for thy nose, And rings for thine ears, And a crown of beauty on thy head.

But your tongue pierced. There must be a limit beyond which things get more improper. One might say that the limit is reached when one pierces his or her nose with a bone. You are far on the wrong side of the limit when your whole skin is tattooed. Maybe you're allowed to pierce your tongue if you don't open your mouth. ;)

It sounds like a dumb thing to do frankly and I don't think God wants people to do dumb things to His body that He gave.
