Is Jesus Antisemitic?

Is the name "Jesus" antisemitic?

In my best Andy Rooney impersonation......

Did you ever wonder why Jesus is called Jesus instead of what his parents or ethnicity would have called him?

and of course in my conspiratorial question....

Is Jesus called Jesus in another bid (of ante-Nicean Christianity) to keep his Jewish identity separate from the Christian perception?

Kinda makes it easier to accept a split from Judaism if you de-Judaize Jesus don't you think?

Hey Dopp....interesting sign off.....how about this one...

Mat 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, [that] observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

In other words...."Do as they say, not as they do". Just thought that was a sister passage to the one you quote.

To Answer Your Question

Jesus is Yeshua in Greek which in Hebrew is Yehoshua, which we translate to be Joshua. So Jesus' name is consistent with the culture and time.

And He wasn't the only person named Jesus at that time Yeshua was sort of common.
