To follow up on this, in my teenage years one of the bands I listened to was Kansas, whose primary writer was guitarist Kerry Livgren. Livgren wrote the song
Carry On Thy Wayward Son, which proved to be prophetic, as around the time I graduated High School I heard he had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He studied all forms of philosophy and religion but had still not found peace in his heart yet, but the words, "There'll be peace when you are done" were fulfilled when he got born again.

After Livgren got saved, he quit Kansas and started a Christian Band called A.D. Because he was already well accomplished as a musician and studio recording artist, it naturally translated into a couple of quality albums, and their reputation was growing. But he made the fatal mistake - for some unfathomable reason - of agreeing to collaborate on a project with Ronnie James Dio of Black Sabbath, maybe in hopes of potentially bringing him to Christ. This was likely his undoing for the same reasons as it was for Kings X. Livgren was unaware of what Dio really was, as evidenced by the fact that he tried defending the man in an interview saying, "Ronnie is not a Satanist," which proved to be patently false. And it was not long after this that all recording projects for the band A.D. stopped, and he quietly slipped into the history. He would resurface a few times here and there, but never made any impact on society like he might have done.
Now, what suggests Dio was behind it? About a year later Dio published
Holy Diver, his first solo album. The cover was of a Catholic priest in chains being cast into the sea by a demonic figure representing Dio himself, which means "god" in Latin. The priest likely represented Livgren here, with the meaning of the image being that they had used spells on him to eliminate him from the music scene.
Holy Diver was a song about someone not suspecting what was happening to him.
I doubt Kerry Livgren knew what the symbolism meant or that it was actually about him, but Satanists in the know certainly would have. What's also interesting is that about 8 months previous, Van Halen published the album
Diver Down, which secretly was communicating the same thing. The Satanists knew who Livgren was, perceived Him as a spiritual threat, and used witchcraft to put an end to a music ministry that might have potentially effected mainstream America for the Lord Jesus Christ.
I guess that's about all I wanna discuss on that subject for now, the point being that all the talk of "Satanic Panic" is actually poorly informed, IMO. There was good reason to fear Satanism back then, and still is today. They control more of the music industry now than ever before.
Until next time, blessings in Christ,
Hidden In Him
