Is there a 'love' that God hates?

I ran into a series of sermons yesterday that made the statement "Love Not the World: The Love God Hates--Parts 1-3.

I posted "Love Not the World: The Love God Hates--Parts 1-3." on another forum in a thread where everyone was claiming "just love" and you'll be on your way to God and heaven.

In that context "The love God hates" was a very profound statement and had me thinking all day. It's a truth we all know, but the ststement itself really quieted the "just love" crowd. Brief and to the point.

In the context of "Love Not the World", "World" takes on a meaning that would be foreign to the secular mind. It literally means everything that is not of faith (which is sin), everything that is not of the Holy Spirit, everything commanded to avoid, abstain from, etc.

I've taken it as this, if we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind then the only love we have left to show is the love of God.

The love of self pretty much sums up all sin I suppose.

Love of anything or anyone who replaces God in their heart.

Lust, such as homosexual lust, and lust for porn, etc., is not love at all.
It's just twisted.

Lust for power is strange, too.

Any "love" that detracts from our love and service of God. Such "love" is not true love however.
