I have a problem , she's 8 years old and is my grandaughter. A little background on her may be a way to start. She started reading at 3 yrs. of age. She is now 8 and she is very interested in the Bible and reads it . The problem is she asks questions and makes statments that are very unearving at times. She is active in Sunday school , but wants to be with the adults in the church. She used to ask me things and I'd anserw to the best of my ability , but now she see's things in a way that I can not fathom.

She says that God made Adam and Eve so he could be a father and have children to love him and that would love him back.. She says that God gave them a natural curiosity , and that is why he placed temtation in the garden knowing what they would do since he also gave them free will. She says God always knows what is going to happen before it even does. I ask her why she thought that way , and she said well nana God created every single thing even good and evil. He did it so the humans would be able to know things. She said if humans only had happiness they wouln't even know they were happy if they had never known saddness. She says all things need a good and bad side , happy , sad , laughter , tears , good and evil. If people had been able to keep things in balance all things in the world would be different , but they didn't and so the the world is in chaous and out of balance. When she speaks like this Im lost , because I realy feel like Im talking to someone a lot wiser and older then I am . She has an undeniable belife in God and she calls him father , she talks to him just like he was there , she says God's always there for everyone if they want him , and that anyone can talk to him and If they did that more they could be more at peace with themselves and others. Im not sure if this is a good thing because Im afraid people will think she is a strange child , well there are some that do now , but tend to over look it because of her age. I however believe that she will with age still think way ahead in ways that others will not be as understanding about once she is older. Whats the anserw , do nothing , try to make her keep things to herself . ? I would realy appreciate all suggestions as I am at a total loss .

This is a good thing, I believe. Personally, I would encourage her and not teach her to hold back much. She should be taught to be ready for any type of rejection and not let it discourage her. She must also understand that she has to spend time with those of her age group as well as time with adults.

While we can debate whether God created evil, evil does exist and we'd probably wouldn't understand or appreciate good without it. A band called "Swithfoot" once sang, "The shadow proves the sunshine". ;-) Everything does have it's time and place:

Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Eccl 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Eccl 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Eccl 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Eccl 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Eccl 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Eccl 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Eccl 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Teach her to rely on God in times of trials, as James tells us:

James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
James 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
James 1:4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

She's not a strange child; she has a gift that's beyond most people's understanding. ...and remember:

Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Wow, how wise for a child! She doesn't seem to be off the mark in what she's saying either.

It is crucial to keep her grounded in the word of God and in good balanced biblical teaching. I would keep a sharp eye out for the enemy because he would just love to get in and pervert and twist her understanding, and she seems to truly be gifted with understanding. It is a gift (like Vic said)!

It's a good thing as long as she stays on the (right) path. Guard her diligently.

I agree with Vic and Destiny. Don't try to quench this. It may very well be that she is gifted with prophesy. Keep her well grounded in the Word, and don't worry about people thinking she's peculiar, because we are called to be a peculiar people.

Or she just has a good memory and is simply repeating what she was taught in Sunday School!

Vic C ..my grandaughter does not do well with children her own age , they play with dolls she never has ..she likes to read . She is way to serious in some respects and I think its the reason others her age don't really play with her. I always do try to explain to her that what others say about her does not matter...she does not seemed bothered by others so I hope it always is like that. Sometimes it hurts to see her being so young and yet so serious.

destiny,
I am truly trying my best to guard her , it worries me at times because I guess Im more afraid for her then I would ever let her know. I do know one thing for sure she is a gift from God and haveing her in my life is so great. I just hope I can be there for her and know all the right things to say to her.

Handy,
I think I have come to the relasation that God has put her here for a reason as he does all of us and I will watch and stand by her.

Agricola,
Hi , no she is not just repeating what she learns in Sunday school , because they don't teach the things she says in there. In fact her Sunday school teacher is unsure of how to anserw her questions or understand how she thinks , but thank you for your imput.

Lianna,

I agree with everyone else....don't quench what the Father has instilled....HE has HIS reasons. The times that are coming Lianna, she has to be prepared for whats to come. Our Lord is essembling and training up HIS warriors Lianna. Like everyone else's grandchildren, we're seeing our grandchildren being assemble by God in HIS wisdom.

My granddaughter is the same way and she's only 3 1/2 years old. She asked for her first bible on her own when she was 2 1/2. She's had the experience a couple of months ago while praying of speaking in tongues though she had never witnessed it, and she caught it and started to ask me about it, she grabbed her chin and said Gah Gah what wrong with me mouth, you see me mouth Gah Gah, me mouth go bob bob bob bob. I did'nt want to bring attention to it in order not to corrupt it so I told her to just finish praying to her Jesus. She too has a passion like I've never seen in no child, and has been prophecized over about 3 times. All 3 have said the same, that God was going to use her in a mighty way and she would live up to her name. They didn't know her or her name! All the time she comes to me saying: Gah Gah read me my bible, pleaseeeeee. Sometimes she tells me things that Jesus tells her.....like HE has her house for her and all her favorite things, cause I wondered why she started telling HIM, Jesus take care of my house and toys at the end of her prayers and blows HIM kisses for HIS pockets....and says nite nite Jesus, I see you in the morning...amen. I asked, you have a house in heaven and she said yes Jesus told her HE did, and toys too.

These children have been born into our mist for a reason Lianna.....let nothing stand in the way of that....we are to protect them, learn from them as God instructs to come as a child unto HIM, allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in leading them to glorify HIS name. This is a honor, and at the same time a cross to bear with a joyful heart, and tears at times too. Keep her covered in prayer constantly/daily, our grandchildren are preparing the way for our Lord's return. Isn't it a blessing that God is allowing us the privilege to contribute to their training for HIS victory and glory.

Kudos HIM,
