Is This the Beginning of the Covenant with Many?

Pre-Tribbers had better hold on to their hats- they may soon be in for the ride of their lives- everyone else can keep an eye on the next few months for evidence of a much broader peace initiative in the Middle East. If Syria, Iran, Lebanon, the Palestinians, etc. come together with the help of the US, Europe, and Russia etc.- we could be seeing the "Covenant with Many" predicted by Daniel. The Treaty would actually be an extension of the Camp David peace accord with Eqypt and later with Jordan- those nations have been at peace with Israel for years.

The treaty would have to be an interim one that gives 7 years to work all the details out. Some people believe that the treaty involves the Antichrist somehow, but the link to the Prince who is to come in Daniel, I believe is incorrect- the prince is the Roman who presided over the destruction of the temple in 70 AD and not some future Antichrist. The falling away has to occur first- then the Antichrist will be revealed. In any case, it is exciting to see the events unfolding in the Middle East- a good reason to keep up with the latest breaking news.

The next event on the agenda will be the rapture of the Church [1 Thes;4:14-18] as seen in the 2 Thes.2:1-8 timetable, which is in perfect harmony with Dan.9:27. Both Scriptures point out the Antichrist is revealed, referred to as the man of lawlessness in the former. The difference between the two Scriptures is what was not revealed in the OT, that is, in the NT. the Church as well as the rapture. What you posted above are events none of us who belong to Christ will be concerned with, as we will be gone.

Confirmation of a covenant for one 'week,' is the 70th and final 'week' of God's decree upon the disposition of Israel during this age, that they are going through 'Jacob's Trouble' [Jer.30:7], the seven years of tribulation. The "he" of vs 27 who makes this covenant, is the same "he" who breaks it in the middle of the 'week,' or 3.5 years after the tribulation starts. And is the same person Jesus alluded to in Mt.24:15, and Paul in 2 Thes.3-4 and 8.

The Prince to come, is Jesus, the Messiah, who is cut off, in vs 26. The people [Roman army] of the prince to come is their general, Titus, who destroy Jerusalem and the temple. Verse 26 ends the fulfillment of the prophecy through 483 years of the 490 year total. The final 7 years is the tribulation yet to come, that is triggered by the Antichrist, who makes the covenant.

Blessings,

I am surprised that you would have any opinion on the events after a pre-trib rapture because they won't concern you. I expect to be here and suffer tribulation, so I guess I have a higher stake in keeping watch.
