The Incredible Question Mark?

Should there be a question mark at the end of this verse?

Jeremiah 32:5  And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

Obviously, there should not. And the 1611 KJV, as well as the 1769 revision that most of us are using, does not put a question mark at the end. But the 1900 Cambridge Edition of the KJV did, and they are correct.

It seems that verse 5 is the third verse of a sentence that begins in verse 3, and the sentence is a question (I added the capitalization):
3  For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, WHEREFORE dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;
4  And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
5  And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

There should be a question mark at the end of verse 5, and if your KJV doesn't have one, it is not preserved from error. But the important thing is this: THE ORIGINAL 1611 KJV DID NOT HAVE A QUESTION MARK AT THE END OF VERSE 5. IT WAS NOT PRESERVED FROM ERROR.

It was a question for vince. I was simply asking him if there was a better version than the KJV as he was pointing out errors in it. The other part was more along the lines if he believed the canonized bible to be 'inspired by God' which depending on the definition of 'inspired by God' would make it infallible. Also, we have this guy Ruckman he is talking about. I was just trying to figure out the point of this thread.

I understand. I am a bit confused as to the point if this thread, which is why I asked it be renamed.

I have no issues with the non essentials like question marks and such. When it comes to the core doctrinal issues of the KJV, it gets a because I'm not tripped up by these issues. I don't have much of an issue with the KJV syntax. Except for a few archaic words that may need to be defined, I've seen translations like the NIV use much harder words to make the very same points.

Personally I read the KJV and NIV. I do also research other versions as to help understand meanings presented in certain passages. I don't hold the canonized bible as infallibe, this isn't due to grammer errors, but I do believe it to contain God's Word, to be 'God-breathed' so to speak. As far as versions go, I'm sure they all contain some errors if you look hard enough. Pointing out punctuation marks and differences in lower-case and upper-case letters seem irrelevant. Personally I don't have any interest in this Ruckman guy. When I see threads like this I just wonder why people spend so much time looking for irrelevant errors instead of reading what they are looking at and looking for Truth. Kind of absurd to me.

I appreciate the last two posts, both of which were kindly and intelligently written. The KJV is an excellent translation, and if you study and obey the KJV, you will do well in your Christian life. However, the same can be said about almost every other translation.

The purpose of this thread is to show that the new revelation, begun in the 1950's, that the KJV IS the Word of God is false. That belief carries too many other errors with it.

Most of my spiritual growth, lessons, and sermons have been from the KJV, and God has blessed me through the KJV.
