Hi forum. I know this will be treated with skepticism...

I've been having some dreams lately that imply that something big is going to happen.

Note the following is just speculation drawn from the symbolism in the dreams. I don't actually get told outright what will happen. I get hints and clues. I think I'm supposed to put all of the pieces together myself.

For the last several nights I have had dreams that may indicate something big is about to happen. In the first dream, God used the symbolism that he usually associates with me running late with my work which is writing articles. The last part of the dream, just prior to waking up, he said “emergency emergency†I have had a whole bunch of dreams lately where it seems like God is indicating that there is a huge amount of pressure and I need to hurry up. Perhaps because something big is going to happen.

Concerning the “emergency emergency†dream, I thought this might have something to do with the fact that I was slacking on my articles as I have had this similar symbolism in dreams several times in the past 3 weeks or so during this time period where I have stumbled as a Christian and almost fell back into sin. As a result I am not working as hard as I should be.

The night before last night I had a bad dream where someone was being tortured with fire. I had never been chastised quite this hard and I could tell God was furious and I think this might have something to do with an inappropriate post that I put on my blog and for getting into an immature argument where I was coming from a place of hate and not love when engaging in a debate with someone on a forum. Perhaps it also had to do with the post I posted about the possibility that the counterfeiting of the Gog and Magog war will start soon which I posted without permission.

This morning I had about 4 dreams in short succession. Unfortunately I only remember details of the last one but I believe the first 3 had similar themes to the last. I do remember however after the 2nd dream that I was trying to remember what it was about. I thought the message that he was trying to get across was that I was supposed to wake up and get out of bed. When I came to this realization I heard the song “Realization†by Ayreon playing in my head. Unfortunately I felt very comfortable and fell back asleep.

In this last dream that I do remember, I was cooking and stirring continually something on the stove that looked like gravy. There was another thing on the stove which also looked live gravy which I seemed to be stirring. I accidentally spilled some of the gravy on the stove and my father (symbolic of God) told me to clean it up (the details and order get sketchy at this point). While cleaning this I became distracted and lost track of what I was doing. Next thing I remember was that my father was yelling at me for burning the gravy. I remember that I became very confused at this point. I think because he was referring to the other container (I seemed to be cooking using drinking glasses rather than a pot). I think I had burned the gravy in the other glass which I had ignored out of distraction. At this point I got angry and punched him in the jaw. He said “put on your seatbelt†and then I immediately woke up. I had tried to punch him in an earlier dream. This is due in part to almost falling back into sin. These last weeks have been very stressful. I've been making so many mistakes and God has been very angry with me. Also I have been struggling very hard with certain aspects of what exactly God will be expecting me to do. I’ve been getting more and more insight into God’s plan for me and its not going to be fun. As a result of the lessened motivation. I started returning to an old sinful thing that I used to do. As a result of this my mood started suffering and I was warned in my dreams that I was leaving myself open to demonic attacks. So I associate these violent impulses with demonic influence. I am never usually a violent person.

I’m not quite sure how I should interpret the “put on your seatbelt†part. He uses a car to symbolize my path or journey as a Christian. When I had just become a Christian and was going through all sorts of emotional mood swings due to some of my own personal issues as well as trying to quit smoking, he always used a car or getting into a car wreck to show what would happen if I gave up and fell back into sin. For example, I had a dream after I had a bout of bad depression and rage while I was trying to quit smoking several months ago. In this dream I was driving and it had become dark. I ran into some sort of block while I was trying to park my car. I spent a long time trying to start my car to no avail. Eventually physical parts of my car started disappearing. Next thing I know I was at the junkyard and I asked the guy who worked there about my car. He said “It’s number in life had been called†or something like that. I had another one where I asked God to scare me so I would not fall back into sin. In this dream I was driving up a big hill. I was nearing the top when I stopped. The next think I knew the car was careening backwards in reverse and I could not stop it. The breaks didn’t work. I’ve had probably about 12 dreams where he uses a car to symbolize my path as a Christian.

What did the two glasses of gravy that I was cooking on the stove symbolize? I think perhaps he was trying to say that I was distracted because of all of the articles I have been writing and my recent bout of lazyness that I have become only vaguely aware of what is happening in the world today. Most of what I have been writing about lately is unrelated to what is happening in the world. When I woke up today though I noticed the following story.

U.S. closes Syrian embassy, presses Assad to step down

“BEIRUT (AP) – The U.S. closed its Syrian embassy Monday and Britain recalled its ambassador to Damascus in a dramatic escalation of Western pressure on President Bashar Assad to give up power, just days after diplomatic efforts at the United Nations to end the crisis collapsed.†USAToday

Notice the following prophecy from Isaiah 17

“Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,
And it will be a ruinous heap.
2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken;[a]
They will be for flocks
Which lie down, and no one will make them afraid.
3 The fortress also will cease from Ephraim,
The kingdom from Damascus,
And the remnant of Syria;
They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,â€
Says the Lord of hosts.

4 “In that day it shall come to pass
That the glory of Jacob will wane,
And the fatness of his flesh grow lean.
5 It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain,
And reaps the heads with his arm;
It shall be as he who gathers heads of grain
In the Valley of Rephaim.
6 Yet gleaning grapes will be left in it,
Like the shaking of an olive tree,
Two or three olives at the top of the uppermost bough,
Four or five in its most fruitful branches,â€
Says the Lord God of Israel.

I posted an article a couple days ago where I said it looked like the counterfeit Gog and Magog war may take place soon due to the news about escalation of tensions with the middle east, especially Iran. Perhaps the two cups of gravy may represent the two different End Times wars. Gog and Magog war and the destruction of Syria which happens in Isaiah 17. Perhaps God is implying that I was wrong about the destruction of Syria war which will happen soon rather than the Gog and Magog which would explain the symbolism of the gravy being burned in the cup I wasn’t paying attention to. This may be why God wants me to hurry up and what he was alluding to with the whole emergency emergency thing.

One could think you are being alerted (emergency emergency) that the stuff you seem to spend so much time cooking up is, when let out of it's container, just a mess to be cleaned up. Because the judgment that this stuff is unfit for human consumption offends you, your response is to lash out at authority, thus inviting trouble.

Fulfilled round about 724 BC.

I think you missed it by about 2600 years (give or take a few.)

In the 8th century B.C., when the entire Assyrian army included 150,000-200,000 men, a combat field army of 50,000 men would be equal to 5 modern American heavy divisions, or 8 Soviet field divisions. When arrayed for battle, a field army occupied an area of 2,500 yards (almost 1.5 miles) across and 100 yards deep. After the fall of Rome, it was not until Napoleon's re-institution of conscription that armies of such a size would be mustered.

The Assyrians were the first to invent large cavalry squadrons.

A special logistics branch, the Musarkisus, was created to keep the army supplied with horses. It was able to obtain 3,000 horses a month for military use. Once again, it was not until Napoleon that such large amounts of horses would be systematically procured for the army. In a climate such as the Middle East, a soldier would need 3,402 calories a day and 70 grams of protein to sustain him, in addition to 9 quarts of water. A ration of 3 pounds of wheat daily (or 150,000 pounds daily for a field army) would only provide 2,205 calories daily, insufficient for the needs of a soldier. The "strategic mobility" of the Assyrian army, or their ability to project their military force over a given area, was 375,000 square miles. After Rome fell, no army exceeded this area until the American Civil War, when the use of railroads made troop movements easier. In terms of efficiency of organization, no military staff (i.e. administrators, logistic officers and engineers) would reach the proficiency of the Assyrian or Roman military staffs until the German general staff of the 1870's.

The prototype of a modern soldier's equipment (helmet, body armor, boots [a particular Assyrian innovation], and backpack) was invented by ancient armies and disappeared for almost 1,000 years after the fall of the Roman Empire.

The killing power of an ancient composite bow (i.e. the accuracy, force, distance, and speed of deployment) was not matched until the introduction of the Prussian needle gun in 1871.

According to modern tests, the body armor, helmet, and shield of the Assyrians would have provided excellent protection against firearms until Napoleon. If the dispersion of field formations, inaccuracy of early firearms, and rates of fire are considered, the Assyrian soldier would have been safer on a battlefield in the 18th century than on an Ancient Near Eastern one. This is what the Near East had to face. An iron lion.[5]

I thought as you are in the military, Jason, you could appreciate the information cited above.

Tiglath-Pileser III conquered Damascus and left it in ruins, using this massive army that conquered much of the Holy Land, Babylon (Iraq), and part of Persia. The fact that Damascus was eventually repopulated despite having been desolated doesn't mean Isaiah's prophecy concerning these events was wrong when he wrote "cease from being a city" only that allowances need to be made for "prophetic hyperbole", which is often used to stress the earth-shattering events about which they were prophesying. This is certainly consistent with the writer of Hebrews view when He writes...

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31 (NASB)

Damascus was going to be under God's wrath (judgment), as was Israel (the northern kingdom). How better to express what this meant than with words to this effect:

"Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap." Isaiah 17:1 (NKJV)

We know this is fulfilled in history because we know the history of Tiglath-Pileser III from I Chronicles, and this, from Isaiah:

So I approached the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. Then the LORD said to me, "Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz; for before the boy knows how to cry out 'My father' or 'My mother,' the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria."

Again the LORD spoke to me further, saying, "Inasmuch as these people have rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah And rejoice in Rezin [king of Damascus] and the son of Remaliah; "Now therefore, behold, the Lord is about to bring on them the strong and abundant waters of the Euphrates, Even the king of Assyria and all his glory; And it will rise up over all its channels and go over all its banks. Isaiah 8:3-7 (NASB)

Hope this helps.

“…and the destruction of Damascus in 732, as recorded in the Assyrian Annals, was massive, leaving hundreds of sites looking “like hills over which the flood had swept.” This widespread destruction also included both the reduction of much of the city of Damascus to rubble as well as the redistribution of its territories in Syria…”

So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, "I am your servant and your son; come up and deliver me from the hand of the king of Aram [Syria] and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are rising up against me."

Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasuries of the king's house, and sent a present to the king of Assyria.

So the king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus and captured it, and carried the people of it away into exile to Kir, and put Rezin to death. 2 Kings 16:7-9 (NASB)

By the way, this also fulfills the prophesy against Damascus in the book of Amos:

Thus says the LORD, "For three transgressions of Damascus and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron.

"So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael And it will consume the citadels of Ben-hadad. "I will also break the gate bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden; So the people of Aram will go exiled to Kir," Says the LORD. Amos 1:3-5 (NASB)
