I don't think Christians are "asleep" as you put it. I think most Christians see the things that are happening and are very concerned - as they should be.
The problem is that their own governments are their enemies. Much as in the US where the government will do everything possible to keep illegal alien latinos in the country (even in a deep recession where they take jobs from American citizens as well as lowering the prevailing wage rates for unskilled labor), most formerly Christian countries will do everything to suppress their own people and culture in favor of foreign invaders.
This is what one commentator has called cultural marxism - marxism translated from economics to culture and inserting Freud. Although cultural marxism has long and very intellectual roots, it has devolved into a very simple dogma: white people are bad, men are bad, Christianity is bad. Everything else is good: feminist women, muslims, homosexuals and whatever flows down the sewer.
The only problems to be solved are in relationship to conflicts between the "good" things: Islam is good and any evil they do must be turned a blind eye to - unless it's to women (such as the in case of the burqa) because feminism trumps non-Christian religion.
Most people shrink from battles they cannot win. The government, media, intelligentsia are thoroughly cultural marxist and will angrily attack their own people for "intolerance" - no matter how reasonable (should we not be "intolerant" of foreign invaders who bring an alien ideology diametrically oppsed to our own culture and seeking to conquer it?).
