It is not in the Bible....sola scripture ?

Luk 2:41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

I tend to have them in Egypt too long.

why did she have to be a virgin before and not after - every year she journeyed the rugged way to Jerusalem for the Passover festival - this would be family planning 'par excellence' - twinc
Why?
How?

She had to be a virgin Before because the Holy Spirit would be the father.

Please answer how journeying to Jerusalem every year had anything to do with Jesus having siblings.

it seems Jesus said to those who fancied themselves as the scripture scholars of His day 'Ye do err not knowing the scriptures' - twinc
Okay, I'm not certain that is relevant but okay.

Luk 2:41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

I tend to have them in Egypt too long.
And in that context, they would not have been there, literally every year but would have gone up every year after God called them to return.

do you mean to say or imply that the H/S wants nothing to do with married women as virgins are holier - btw they did not have or approve of contraception or abortion in those days and any pregnancy would be risky imho - twinc

Probably the best question you have asked as long as I've known you. :)

She had to be a virgin before, and not after - because it was prophesied as a sign. After the birth, there was no prophecy of a 'continual' virgin - that's a man made idea.

Isaiah 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Genesis 2:24
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

Matthew 1:24
And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife,

It's in the Bible!

Do you believe Joseph "knew" Mary before Christ was born? I assume you just mean he took her as his wife, and then after the birth, they got to "know" each other.

Now THAT is a scripture you should take to heart........

Do you believe Joseph "knew" Mary before Christ was born?
Just between you and me, no. But the fact is, 'the Bible' says Joseph 'took Mary as his wife' before Jesus was born and 'the Bible' tells us the reason a man leaves his father and his mother is; they shall become one flesh.

I figured that's what you meant. Had me worried for a min. :)

After Mathew 1:24 comes
Mathew 1:25 and that verse answers your question.

Aw, come on. If you know anything about our God you know that He wants no part of sin and would have everything perfect again and it will be on the New Earth. ¿And a risky pregnacy? Everything completed by God is perfect.

And now please, what has the modern day refusal to obey God by using Birth Control measures got to do with the topic being discussed, that id as Red Herring as far as I can see,

If you learn some manners and learn how to ask questions you will not make everyones blood boil so that we have to take 10 deep breaths before we type an answer to you. Instead of flying off the handle telling absurd lies such as "it is not in the bible - twinc" you could have gotten much further by asking, "Where in the Bible does it say that?" I would not feel like lecturing you about being a man, either.

But to answer the accusation that am a filthy liar the information is found in the Bible at Matthew 2:
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Finaly, the world is filled with liars, I know because I was an entertainer, a carpenter/business owner/truck driver. But when a man gives his life to the LORD, he is changed meaning the regulars on this site, save one that moved to another site at the moment will never tell you a lie, not intentionally.
