Jacob is Israel and yet....?

Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD That created thee, O Jacob, and He That formed thee, O Israel, "Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art Mine.

Jacob is Israel and yet....Jacob was created while Israel was formed.


45:3-4 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD Which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. For Jacob My servant's sake, and Israel Mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known Me:

Jacob is Israel and yet....Jacob is His servant while Israel is His elect.

Another question those verses raise concerns...."the treasures of darkness."

Ephesians 5:11-12 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.


Darkness, who I consider Satan and his realm, apparently have treasures as well as unfruitful works for, as [Isaiah 45:3-4] tells us, God will give us the treasures. Could this be the tree of knowledge of good and evil...the treasures and the unfruitful works?

Where else do we read of the difference in creation-formation?

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

As there was a difference in the creation of mankind, all races, and the formation of Adam, the genetic line to Christ...there appears to be that distinction in Jacob/Israel. As Adam and mankind are the same and yet separate is Jacob, who is Israel, the same and yet separate?
