You just posted Sunday's second reading two days in advance. :o I'm telling your bishop.

I know some people have their own copy of the misslette and I used to think that was strange. But now that I'm a little older and actually prepare for things in advance occassionally, I think its a neat idea.

Anywho, I love verse 18 in that chapter of James, its a very strong argument for the importance of acting like and being a Christian. No wonder Martin Luther had a hissy fit over it.

Now to the one who works, his wage is not reckoned as a favor but as what is due. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness (Romans 4:4-5).

This is the New Agenda God revealed through Paul to everybody, as you can see Faith by works = Death.
Only the righteouse see the first ressurrection, the rest sleep in Death until the ressurection to Judgement, or the second ressurection.

Those who are in Christ Jesus want to do good things of course, that comes naturaly with out even trying if you are in Christ Jesus.... however in no way are you doing these good deeds to attain right standing with God, you already have that right standing with God through Faith in Christ alone plus nothing.

There is no deception with God about the reason behind why somebody does anything.... Martin Luther must have realised this also, especially when you consider no man speaks unless God allows it.

I don't understand why catholics make such a big deal about "works". We don't seem to be very different in this sense.

Its very common for Protestants to attack Catholics by saying that Catholics claim to be saved by works. Despite what the bible and CCC say, its often repeated ad nauseum. We just like to clarify the subject.
