Jesus Christ – God's Amnesia of his Very Own Son

It is written that God will remember our sins no more (hint: Isaiah 43:25 and Hebrews 8:12). But consider what this means. When we become one with Jesus Christ, in faith, all of our sins are transferred to Jesus Christ who is God's own son. Jesus Christ then becomes sin for us.

When Jesus Christ was hanging on the cross God the Father placed all of man's sins on his son which meant that God would remember our sins no more. This 'sin amnesia' by God the Father means that God now has no memory of his very own son since all of our sins were placed upon his son on the cross.

God forgives all of our sins by placing those sins on his very own son hanging on the cross. Then he remembers those sins no more. Which means that God the Father now has no more memory of his very own son.

Those who become saved by Jesus Christ will be given a new name in heaven so God the Father can 'see' us once again. Whereas God the Father must remain 'blind' (hint: spiritual amnesia) to his very own son or else God would be forced to remember all of our sins for Jesus Christ hides all of our sins from God the Father.

God Bless

I would like you to consider the fact that our Heavenly Father did not forget all the prophesies about the future of Jesus once He shed His Blood for the remission of our sins on the cross. The Father did not forget to save a place on His throne for His Son Jesus. The Father did not forget that Jesus would be the One to judge the whole world at the great white throne.

I can't go along with your thinking, "spiritual amnesia" because it is my opinion that the Father couldn't remain blind to His son. The Father is blind to the sins Jesus took on Himself, not the Son Himself. I could never be blind to my son, neither could YHWH be blind to Yeshua.

I've considered your aspect above. But that is an argument from limited perspective.

We might consider that God in Christ is entirely sufficient to take on every sin as if it never existed.

Yes, God IS that powerful.

This kind of emphasis seems to contradict God's omniscience. The omniscience of God is demonstrated in what Elihu said about God that He is the one 'who is perfect in knowledge (Job 37:16 ESV). John declared that God 'knows everything' (1 Jn 3:20 ESV). Of God, Heb 4:13 (ESV) states, 'And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account'.

So, you are on very dangerous ground to suggest that God has amnesia about his own Son, in light of biblical evidence.

I recommend this short article, 'Does God really forget our sins?' to provide some further answers to this issue raised.

The Father has never forgotten His Son. Had He, then Jesus would still be in the tomb.

Act 13:35 - Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Act 13:36 - For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Act 13:37 - But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Good point!!

When we become one with Jesus Christ, in faith, all of our sins are transferred to Jesus Christ who is God's own son.

I don't think that is quite accurate. Can you refer me to a Bible passage that says that?

Jesus lived a sinless life in perfect submission to the Father's will.
By His incarnation He was united with all mankind.
All of mankind sins (Rom 3:23) and the result (wages) of sin (not the punishment FOR sin) is death. (Rom 6:23)
Jesus submitted to an unnatural death. (Execution rather than old age or sickness or accident)
In His death, He bore the consequence of sin (death) for all mankind.

Isa 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

By His resurrection He destroyed death for all mankind. (Everyone will be resurrected.1Co 15:21)

When believers are baptized they are united to Christ in his death and raised with Him to new, eternal life.
The "old man" of sin is buried in baptism and the "new man" in Christ is raised to new life.

Rom 6:3-7 (NKJV)
A- Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?

B- Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
C- For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
D- knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
E - For he who has died has been freed from sin.

I don't agree, Ugmug, that God forgets our sins. God is all-knowing and that means God has complete and total recall for everything that his happened. He forgets nothing. That is the gourd of our meaningfulness. How can we cave meaning in an ever-changing world, where everything goes sup in smoke soon enough? God is the guarantor of meaningfulness, ads God empathically experiences all our experiences and enjoys them forever in his eternal memory.
