Jesus' greeting

From ancient times, the prophets of God including Moses, Joseph, David, Jesus, the angles of God and many others have made it their custom to greet the believers with the words "Peace be with you." This can be seen in such verses as:


Genesis 43:23 "And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them."

Judges 6:23 "And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die."

1 Samuel 25:6 "And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast."

Numbers 6:26 "The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace."

1 Samuel 1:17 "Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace"

Luke 24:36 "And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."

John 20:19 ".....came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you."

John 20:26 "........then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you."

And especially:

Luke 10:5 "And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house."


Can anyone guess what Muhammad (pbuh) taught his followers to say when greeting each other or departing from each other? You guessed it! "Assalam alaikum" or "Peace be unto you." Have you ever met a Christian who greets others with the words of Jesus (pbuh): "Peace be unto you" or departs with those words?!!!!

Excuse me but have you ever heard about Shalom?
And what Muhammad did was just what the Jews did in those days and still does. You just don't get it Muhammad is not in the bible nor is Islam. And this proves just how desperate you are to prove that your so-called prophet is from GOD but forget it he is but a plagiarist. He is not genuine look at the qualification for a prophet not in anyway the qualifications of Muhammad I should say. You see so the prophet so is the GOD a prophet is/was the ambassador for GOD and if Muhammad should be a prophet he is disqualified big time and just look at you if Muhammad is representing GOD who would need a GOD who rapes, steal, kills, lies and altogether dishonest and what else he was and did. And just look at what your doing your lying about Muhammad so that he will fit in the Bible your stealing the Glory of JESUS to make it fit some one who is not even worthy to tie HIS shoestrings really neat. And besides that GOD says that HE doesn’t do anything in Israel with out telling HIS prophets about it and none of the prophets foretold of Muhammad. Oh but I’m sure you could easily make something up, it seems like you have a flair for that, don’t you?

Mr. Al-Kadhi begins this somewhat questionable criticism of the manners of contemporary Western society (which he, in my opinion, incorrectly implies is Christian) by saying: "From ancient times, the prophets of God including Moses, Joseph, David, Jesus, the angles of God and many others have made it their custom to greet the believers with the words "Peace be with you."" He cites many Bible passages in order to show that this form of greeting was once popular, including: Genesis 43:23, Judges 6:23, Samuel 25:6, Numbers 6:26, 1 Samuel 1:17, Luke 24:36, John 20:19, John 20:26.and Luke 10:5 where Jesus told the Apostles "And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house."

Mr. Al-Kadhi is viewing Western society through the lens of his own culture. I am not criticizing him for doing this, we all view the world in terms of our own cultures and belief systems. Islam is more than a religion, it is a way of life. The Sunnah is the path, the way, or the manner of life that Muhammad approved of, by his words and/or actions, many of which are recorded in the Hadith. The Sunnah :"implies the doings and practices of Muhammad." 'It is thus a concrete implementation, a tangible form and the actual embodiment of the Will of Allah...."(Sahih Muslim Introduction, page IX of Volume I). In other words, if Muhammad did something, such as greeting others in a certain manner or the way in which he cleaned his teeth, then it is "sunnah" to good Muslims. I would be among the first to condone good manners as well as good habits, however, I see very few spiritual benefits in the obsessive adherence to the manners and mores of 7th century Arabia.

Many Christians, including Roman Catholics and most Protestants, do great each other during religious services with the "peace of the Lord". The West has, sadly, separated many aspects of religious life from the popular culture. There are a few Christians who great others publicly with greetings of peace - one example is Jeff Smith who always ends his Public Broadcasting System program "The Frugal Gourmet" with the phrase "I bid you peace". The manner in which peoples of different faiths greet each other really does not indicate which faith is true or false - it is, at best, a tangential issue. I would rather live in a world where people treated each other with love and in the peace of Jesus rather than simply greeting each other with a superficial wish for "peace".

...who sent His son Jesus to die on a cross. Are you implying that God is not all powerful enough to send Christ as a sacrifice for us all?

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Its very clear here that Jesus came to give the people eternal life and that he is the son of God.
 
No Brutus/HisCatalyst, God have full power to do anything. God did not send anybody as a sacrifice for us. He has no Son. He sent the prophets to guide us to the true path.
And everybody is responsible about his deeds.
The unique way to save us is to believe in One God without partner, and do good deeds.
Jesus(PBUH) has been sent as a prophet. Neither Son Of God nor has been Sacrificed for us

No Brutus, Jesus is a prophet and the prophets do not lie, but as I told you before, Jesus’ words has been changed by men, this is the problem.

Correct the word of JESUS has been change by a man MUHAMMAD changed the word of JESUS, and that is a major problem not only for us but also for you.
