Jesus had a Kingdom, and it was not the jews!

Jn 18:

36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

When Jesus spake these words, in principle He already had or was in possession of a Kingdom, with subjects , or it could be no Kingdom, but it was not of this world, and it was not the ethnic jews, though some may have been of that Kingdom.

But the mere fact that He contrasts His Kingdom with that of being delivered to the jews, is a clear evidence that they [ethnic jews] in and of themselves, were not His Kingdom He was King of !

Pity eh?

It could have been the kingdom of the Jews.

If only they had recognized Him as their King??

Great pity.

Personally I dont see the problem with being a Jew and accepting Jesus Christ.

Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" "Is that your own idea," Jesus asked, "or did others talk to you about me?" "Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?" Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
(John 18:33-36 NIV)

I do not think Jesus ever claimed to be King of the Jews. In this scripture Pilate asked Him if He was. Jesus basically responded that he was not.

I know the Jews are sometimes called 'God's chosen people'. Could it be that you are confusing that with the perception that Jesus was King of the Jews, since Jesus and the Father are the same?

If I am wrong about that, do you know of any scripture where Jesus claims to be the 'King of the Jews'? Or is someone just saying that? Because it sounds like you are trying to refute that he was.

question is the current christian in the kingdom of God? are we not ambassador for christ? and sojouners meaning that we are citizens?
if so then those that believe are indeed in the kingdom.

and we are on the earth and he is in us. though the king isnt presently on the earth.

The Kingdom of Christ is not of this world, not in its origin, government and destiny. Its origin is Heaven from whence it's King and Head is from, His seed that shall serve Him ps 22:

30A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

As subjects do unto their King

It is a Heavenly Kingdom. The King is the Lord from heaven; He stated:

Jn 8:42b

: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Jn 6:62

What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he [Son of Man] was before?

The subjects of His Kingdom are of the same origin, for both He that sanctifies [ Jesus Christ] and they that are sanctified [ His seed ], are all of one, for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren Heb 2:11

Jesus said:

" thine they were, and thou gavest them me;"

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
