I wanna make a thread, completely dedicated to all sorts of ways Jesus is in the New Testament. I want you to post, in simple and concise explanations, where we can find Jesus Christ in the Old Testament.
I'm going to post evidences too. There are a lot. I'm going to start with a few from Genesis. I'm going to start with the very beginning.
IN THE BEGINNING
John 1:1 states:
In Genesis 1:1 we read:
The picture above shows the Hebrew (read right to left) of Genesis 1:1 a word that is not translated. This word is Et, spelled Aleph-Tav. Interestingly, this word is with God (elohim). But the point I'm making is not that Et is with Elohim. Rather I merely want to focus on this literary marking, Et. It is the letter in the middle of the seven words.
Here is a view of it in ancient Hebrew below, when Hebrew was written with pictographs. Not as the block letters as depicted above were.
Notice the Et is written as an ox and a cross. Jesus was the final sin sacrifice on the cross.
Conclusively, as Alpha and Omega are the first and last of the Greek alphabet, so are Aleph and Tav the first and last of the Hebrew alphabet. Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 1:8, 22:13)
