why is it politically correct to make Jesus jokes and incorrect to make jokes about race and gays?

When you Joke about Jesus then you are joking about the whole body of Christ....

It seems the first amendment only kicks in when the legal system wants it too...

Excellent point, making fun of our lord and savior is just wrong, and needs to be noticed. I hear so many "Yo momma" jokes and hate them all.

I hate the jokes soooo much. It feels like you are overhearing someone making fun of you without them directly doing so. I work in a store and hear jokes constantly despite them knowing my faith. I never laugh and leave it at that. I would love to boohoo but that's exactly what they want you to do. You can't let it bother you. A few people have asked me if it makes me mad and I tell them "of course it bothers me, but there is no chance a few jokes are going to shake my beliefs." I think its important not to jump into judgment mode. We all know that everyone will be held accountable for their actions but it is not our job to do so. That sort of response only strengthens an atheists beliefs.

Yes and then pushes them further from God, I love this line, but in those times just turn the other cheek and tell them Jesus still loves you.
