There are Jesus people in public school too ya know. If we stay out of public schools, then who is going to be the salt and light for those people? Most people have to go to public school anyway.

I don't trust every believer with Jesus painted across their lips any more than I trust the (can I say it!) the pope!

If people want to surround themselves with faith matters, then they should do so in their "churches" and keep "their stuff" OUT of the civic arena, entirely. This is the basis of the separation of church and state, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

And, I would further add, that other forms of state indoctrination over matters of morals or ethics should also be DISBANDED.

Let's keep the educational matters to hard educational matters. There is no other reason to submit any child to anything by the STATE other than hard education of material facts.

In the civic arena, all are supposedly EQUAL in rights and measures.

Then, in the realm of civic, read: NOT CHURCH matters, ALL PEOPLE of every faith, even SATANISM, should be able to hang there own relics and imaginations, right next to the imaginary picture of Jesus.

On this I agree. Any religion and faith should be allowed to express their faith. However with regards to Satanism, they made that the name of their religous beliefs in a way to stand against the Christian religion. The beliefs that I am aware of don't go any farther then that to suggest they worship satan or are against Christianity. But in their actions and the name of their religion I would suggest at least some distance between expressions of faith towards Christianity, and expression of faith towards Satanism.

I would never allow any my children to be taught about Jesus from anyone else, but Jesus. The last place I would want to see them indoctrinated from is by the STATE! That is just insane.

Fair enough, but a counter point on that is that is where do you seperate state from the people who are apart of it? In each community the people in it are who hold up the jobs and duties of the state. In each community people's religous and political perspectives are part of who they are and how they act. It's not that easy to seperate church and state completely and still have any religous rights at all. What's left is equality in having no religous rights for anyone. If it's separated completely.

I would not want to find out, therefore BAN any expressions of any faith or non faith in the civic realm. It's the only logical way.

I am not a fan of State education. It has deteriorated beyond much hope in my eyes. My children are now having to face some serious choices about "how" they want to educate my grandchildren, WHO they want to submit them to and what kinds of things they want to have installed by the STATE or NOT! the OR NOT portions should not even be on the STATE education platters.

There is a lot of B.S. that has over ran basic state education.

So why are they fighting the decision? Wouldn't that preclude the image is a false god?

And that was because God wanted it that way, because people would worship the picture like they do now.kind of like Catholics kneeling before a statue This is not a Catholic debate so don't even go there with me.
