Jesus Statue on Fire

I'm not an eschatologist and really don't get wrapped around the axle on end-time signs. I just chimed in to say this was a very small incident to be some sort of sign to His creation.

just sayin' :shrug

I'll be interested to see if anyone disagrees and can point out its relevance.

Let's not forget that the statue was a sin.

Exodus 20: 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.

This topic has been posted on several Islamic forums, and of course, the members are saying it is a clear sign of Gods disapproval of Idols and graven Images.

I see all of these members in both threads saying "No big deal, lightning strikes tall objects" and I agree with them. But what, do you suppose, would the posters on this forum be saying if it was some Islamic icon that was destroyed. Just ponder that.

They might say God is knocking down false idols. But either way, the statue is against the Bible. I'm Christian and I readily recognize that.
