Actually, He was quite wealthy while still a very young baby. Those weren't baloney sandwiches the Magi brought.

frankincense, gold and myrrh. all of which wasn't for the poor. quite a lot of money in that sense was given to him.

No, they weren't. Frankincense and Myrrh, besides their medicinal uses, were also very valuable in trade. And of course the gold spoke for itself in matters of establishing wealth.
These things would have assured the future of the baby Jesus and his family in matters of independence or private wealth. Also, as a carpenter in that part of the world at the time, one would presume Joseph was employed in a very lucrative trade. But these Magi with their gifts assured that the newborn King of Heaven would not live as a peasant on earth.

Well, yes, and possibly, no. Because they had to flee right after getting those gifts, they probably wouldn't have been able to travel with a group, which was the custom for safety from bandits. So, they would have had to spend a fair amount on some hired body guards, and to use for "passage bribes". Then, when they got to where they were going, they would have had to purchase a house and all the things they left behind. Joseph may not have been able to just find work, so they would have needed money to live on during those years.

But. they STILL should have had quite a bit left.

Jesus wasn't important on earth, at least not to most people. Just some carpenter country bumpkin to most people. Then the miracles...

...He wasn't even physically impressive. I forget the passages on that. And yet...

...God made flesh.
