I was just wondering how many fans of him we have on here. I loved him as Slinky Dog, Gus in a Christmas movie called Annabelle's Wish, and of course the all Ernest movies. Know-what-I-mean Vern? :wink

He was a Shakespearean trained actor. He was, like many actors who play comic characters, very intelligent and different from the people he played. His last movie role which he did while getting close to the end, was a serious one and had a lot of very positive reviews by critics.
His Ernest character was first something he did for strictly local tv commercials in the Washington DC area to put bread on the table so to speak, and they got someone's attention.

Yeah Ik, I've heard of and seen those commercials before. It's just really ironic that he did a commercial that was anti smoking since I do believe that he died from lung cancer. :sad
