[__ Prayer __] Jobs and Certifications and Resumes

Liberty was awesome and I wasn't sure what could beat that (at least this quickly) but something has!

I got an email from a school counselor today... He sent out my resume to four different police stations (three locals and the nearby State Troop). Well the State and one of the towns wants me for an interview for their spring internship positions. :yes

Tomorrow I'm going to go to a place where they sell suits and I am going to figure out what size fits me and then I am driving to the Goodwill and buying one! :D

Need to look spiffy for the coppers. This could be HUGE! I feared that my lack of a job history would hurt me but perhaps it will be alright with all these great opportunities that are coming up.

The other thing I learned is that at Liberty U. I will have the chance to intern with both their campus PD (less an internship and more a community service thing) and with the LIBERTY COUNSEL!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup

These oppurtunities kind of just fell in my lap... like someone dropped them there... Oh yeah that's right it's God! :lol

Could use some courage in the interviews. I'm not good at them (only ever done one before and that was for a job I didn't get so...) so I'll need extra prayer to counter balance that!

Welp! It's official! I am the intern for East Hartford Police Department this spring! :yes

My resume was sent out to EHPD MPD CST and RPD. MPD (my town) isn't taking on an intern this year because they are rotating officer duties. RPD already has an intern. The State Troopers invited me to be their intern and so did EHPD. Well I decided I'd go with EHPD because the woman in charge was just so nice and plus it's closer to me. Gonna go get my EHPD ID badge this week so I can get keyed through their doors and elevator and such. Got some final paper work to do so I can help with ride-a-longs and such (its all legal stuff about how I won't sue and blah blah blah...).

Oh and I got a job at Big Y! It's a grocery store in Mass. and CT.. Start tomorrow!

Semester is over and I only have two finals to take next week so that's awesome. Pretty much expecting an A in all my classes.

Work is good. Working hard and making the right impression. It's amazing how many people take the job so flippantly.:nono2

Internship is going awesome! Meeting a lot of officers. Going on my third ride along this Thursday. EOD is on Friday. Today I worked the front desk. They wanted me to apply there for the new batch of hires but I won't be 21 until Oct. and the requirement was 21 by March.

Liberty University is officially official. I've got my initial payments all done. I've got to wait until the taxes are filed (next two weeks) and then I can do the FASFA form, which will in turn let me begin paying tuition. Pretty stoked for that.

Army is a no start. :( I talked to ROTC guy at Liberty and to a MEPS guy and I'd be a DQ because of an allergy to raw almonds, apples, and pears.

School is going fine. Taking two law classes this semester, really anxious for the real deal next year.

Praises to God for making everything come together!
